Bio
Jorgen Bent Larsen was born on March 4, 1935 in Denmark. He is considered to be the strongest chess player ever born in Denmark. At the age of 19, he became an International Master. Two years later, he had gained the rank of International Grandmaster. He is an imaginative player, more willing to try unorthodox ideas than most other top players, and is noted for occasionally using unusual openings. He is one of the few modern grandmasters to have used 1.b3 regularly and the opening is called Larsen's opening in his honor.
