Subscriptions have always been advertised as offering unlimited concurrent games.

This has now been changed to 1k concurrent games to prevent players starting unmanageable game loads.

Only 1 current subscriber is impacted by this change. If you are a subscriber, and feel strongly about this modification to your subscription, please send feedback.

Obviously, the subscriber in question is me. My game load is not unmanageable.

@JeanTylerGabriel
Then why are your games being timed out?

You’ve played a total of 7441 games and have lost on timeout in 1632 games.
This equates to timing out in 22% of your games.
You timed out in five games yesterday and at the time of this posting, have already timed out in four games today.
Your assertion that your ‘game load is not unmanageable’ does not stand up.

Good. Let him know he cannot lie his way out of this. There also has to be another large % who did not get to actually hit the timeout button, since it is not done automatically. There is also a bunch of people he plays just in the nick of time, minutes before timeout. Plus some people he begs not to time him out. Funny thing is, before Russ ordered the 1000 game limit he was over 2300 and still registered to play in all possible tournaments, ,... lloll 😀

Psychiatrists must have a name for it and therapy they can recommend.
Anyway the 1,000 limit and the ban on registering in further games, he is going to have to be a compulsive game 'decumulator' ... lol

1632 games lost to timeout would suggest otherwise.

What happens to a certain player that has over 2000 games and is still entering tournaments?

No player with 1000 games will be able to enter tournaments beyond the date of the initial post. They may have entered unstarted tournaments prior to this date though - so it will take a little while for this limit to take affect.

Even with fewer than 1000 games, if the tournament will take the player to over this number, entry is blocked.

2021 September Quintets I 1455-1565, new tournament, 2021 September Longhaul Octet I 1455-1565, certain player is now occupying space someone else could be taking. What about club tournaments? Is the club host responsible for policing the site rule?

Clearly a problem here. I will rectify.

The RHP API (used by apps) was not enforcing this limit, this has now been fixed.

Private tournaments also enforce the same condition by default. So club admins need not worry about it.

One reason someone might be playing 1000s of games is because he is doing something he should not be doing according to the rules of this site.

For example, A person testing an AI chess computer may think this is an easy way to improve it.
