He continues to try pointing his finger in the direction of others to take attention from what "Easy Riders", Breaking Bad, anti-metallica, & arrow have been doing all year.

Which is those 3 Clans handing "Easy Riders" points, on what has become a gold platter. Hundreds of points are now involved in their underhanded scheme. It may already be too late to save the clan system. I hope in this case I am proven wrong!!!

I think we all felt that way about seeing Metallica several hundred ahead for a couples years, I felt that way. Tater didn't start his attack for a year or two after Metallica had already screwed the pooch on accountability.

Looks to me like he was playing nice, then a bully came into town. But what do I know? I have too much on my plate already.

That was about the time Lemon and Tater starting messaging people about them. I can't remember how I answered but I am sure I was supportive. I have already been deleting Shorties challenges because I could see the sandbagging from a distance.

Just had a look at your clan and .........ah......yes.........I see you are not adverse to collecting free points from Arrow and braking bad. In fact your clan appears to be the 2nd highest recipient behind the sleazy riders. Funny that.

If you see a challenge you don't like, you toss it.

Exactly how the clan system is supposed to work !!

If you want to root out sandbagging as an issue, then you look everywhere !!
You can look in tournaments. You'll find plenty to get excited about there !!
You can look at other chess sites.
I'm sure you will find the same problems everywhere.

You can look at other clans !!
I put out some statistics on Easy Riders yesterday.
More than half their roster have had a rating variance >200 points in the last 90 days !!
That is greater than the challenge limit !!

You have lots of places to look !!

At the end of the day, you and some others will put forth a set of proposals to Russ to fix or improve the clan feature.

He will cost out the changes and decide whether to put out the funding to go forward.
RHP is a business after all !!

A final comment. I do applaud you and some others who care enough about this feature to put in the time and effort to try and make this work.

I will read your list of proposals which have just appeared in this forum.

We don't always have the time to look at every single clan's activities.

There are some that raise an issue that occurs everywhere.
And then certain individuals use that global issue to shine the light on a particular person or clan that they have a grievance with.

Sandbagging is a problem.
And it is only a problem with Metallica !!! Nonsense !!!

That kind of grievance-fest usually goes nowhere !!

And it is a convenient deflection from other serious issues that afflict the clan feature.

I have to agree with you. People already know it is a fight mainly between Metallica & als Clan....No one considers you "Easy Riders" even in the running. Exception being you cohorts and fellow CHEATERS!!!!

If you looked, you will also see that half of those challenges where challenged to me; not as much by me. Also with admin privileges, you will see that often, if not every challenge was bounced at least once and often 2-3 times to get satisfactory matches.

I wonder about the messages. An admin could see if collusion is occurring by the messages, bounce rate, ....

My issue? Last year it was Metallica and the never able to reach points. I then realized with Tater and Lemon gunning for them, I could sit back and pick off the wounded as they flea. Just kidding. I was invited by Giannotti to come put in some of my spare underwear.

Truth is, I almost thought : "Out of sight, out of mind" since Be Happy Clan has been a few positions higher this year from last. Riding around 9-11 last year and 6-7 this year is an improvement. I expected that the best way to fix a problem is to ignore it, but avoid stepping into it if possible.

I only remember having disagreements with a couple clan leaders. For the most of it, I thought we were pen pals, friends of another type, comrades of the times.

I just want a fair, safe environment to spend my online time. I chose to take over this clan from AJAXO many years ago. He wanted to win and flooded every member with dozens of often unwinnable matches. He got frustrated at the individuality of the website users and their on again/off again dedication to clan membership; he quit the site.

I often wondered if Metallica was helping weak players win games. Being of strong moral character, I could not see how doing that would help anybody. I play practice games with some of my weaker players, helping them recognize tricky openings and gambits hoping to help them be more fruitful in the clan. Sometimes it feels like a waste of time with some that only want to play when they are hammered or bored, or just getting off porn. Every 4-5 new members there is a good one that inspires me once again.
