Are you saying you don't see where the challenge is going to be?

Or were you talking about the Clan title for first place?.....There are Clans that will be challenging hard for 1rst place this year. Look around closely and you'll see them.

I guess I'm missing something .... But ... There were 2 champions last year ... Metallica top of net and Breaking Bad top of gross ... Just have to switch the view?

You could switch the sort to alphabetical order.
What kind of champion would you declare in that case ?

The default sort is set to Net Points which is the best indicator of a clan's performance.
It used to be Gross Points but that was before I joined the site.
But that just became a contest of which clan can set the most challenges.

In the case of Breaking Bad clan, as pointed out by a poster above, they did win win more challenges than Metallica. But they lost 4 times as many challenges as Metallica.
btw, Breaking Bad had a good year in 2020, and I congratulated the leader accordingly.

Net Points is not perfect, but it is a more accurate metric of performance.
In 2016, there was an attempt to represent a clan's performance by assigning a rating to each clan and using that as a performance metric.
It was problematic to say the least.
Russ actually ran a beta version of that scoring system for a while and what stood out amongst other problems was the clan at the top of the standings only played 12 challenges all year.
So this was a deficiency opposite to the Gross Points scoring system.
This system was eventually abandoned.

As it turns out, Net Points falls in between the 2 alternatives mentioned above.
What it means....... for a clan to be successful, they have to....
1- win more challenges than they lose.
2- play a sufficient number of challenges to be competitive.

Net Points, while not perfect, achieves this to some degree.

As a Clan Leader padge you should know by now how it works. Look at the challenges they lost and look at the ones we lost. You have to give it up!

Obviously I know how it works and that is baddly
I will never accept that points you have already won can be talen way or that games won in a challenge count as points lost
I think the whole system was thought up by the mad hatter having a bad night
