@mchill saidI much preferred NYPD Blue to Hill Street Blues. Dennis Franz was in both.
Hill Street Blues was a good one. My favorite however was Banacek (72 - 74)
@gambrel saidDragnet was so badly done IMO
I never really got into the police dramas if that time period. I grew up watching Dragnet and Highway patrol. Dragnet was so badly done IMO
Yes, it was badly done, and so provided some comic relief as well. Friday and Gannon were portrayed to be so perfect they almost squeaked when they walked. 😆

Friday: Well fella, you can tell us who your partner is or you'll rot in jail until you do.
Gannon and Friday look at each other and nod three times.
@mchill saidMy dad said once that he thought Jack Webb was such a tool. I said, "Wow, look at Dad, trying to be all hip and stuff."

Of course he never said this around his military buddies. They all thought Jack Webb was "right on".
@ponderable saidVictor Sen Yung was a great actor, known primarily for his role of Hop Sing on Bonanza. Victor also played Charlie Chan's "numba one son."
Bonanza was a big hit when I was a child in the 70's in Germany.
probably not politically correct I liked Hop-Sing most...
In 1972 Victor was on a flight and the plane was hijacked
FBI stormed the plane and in the ensuing gunfight 3 passengers were hit, one died, Victor survived his gunshot would in his back. Victor passed away in 1980.
