There are plenty of games out there that rely on a serious plot to play and there is no reason why this can't be made into a movie.

Some games with plot lines that could make good movies ...
Half Life
Farcry
Guildwars
Sniper Elite
GTA
Medal of Ho ...[text shortened]...
What I don't like is that every movie that seems to come out now has a game out soon after.
Mafia was a superbly written cinematic piece of gaming.

You know, each time they make one of these movies out of video games, I'm quite a bit disappointed there isn't any score being kept on a line throughout the movie. Doesn't the main character get credit for killing goombas or zombies, or whatever the bad guys are? At least let us know how many lives the main character has left!

Agreed.

I'd add Syberia and Grim Fandango as other great games with movie potential.

Doom should not have been made a movie.

The one video game that I always wanted to see as a movie was 'The Legend of Zelda'. Also 'Castlevania' would have been cool to see. 'Kid Icarus' might have been okay but I doubt the movie would have been anything resembling the game.

Not really, I'm talking about something like they did with Resident Evil (just that one; the sequel ending sucked)
Maybe introducing a new character like Raiden; going through the same mission along w/ Snake...or something like that
