Here are all the sentences that were entered for the short prose competition Thread 129858. (Most of them are sentences anyway. Keep in mind that was a requirement.) Vote for your favourite three. Your first choice gets 5 points, your second choice gets 3, and your third choice gets 1 point. Voting closes May 27, 2010.

Eg.
1. S (5points)
2. Y (3 points)
3. R (1 ponit)

A. It was a dark and stormy night, the bars were open and it was time to rock out with your cockerel out.

B. It was a dark and stormy night when I logged into RHP and entered the competition.

C. It was a dark and stormy night. Raven's fingers trembled with anticipation as she unwrapped the package from justforgirls.com. If only the power would come back on so she could power this device and begin her new adventure...

D. It was a dark and stormy night ...when I was woken out of a fitful sleep by a huge crash. Racing to the window I looked out into utter blackness called night. Suddenly a flash of lightning turned back the darkness if only for a moment. What I saw in that moment will haunt my dreams forever.

E. It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents — except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets, rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness.

F. It was a dark and stormy night which was exactly what saved my sorry butt, the hit man fired 9 shots in quick succession but all missed by a mile which gave me time to pull out my own silenced 44 following the phut of his gun I got him.

G. It was a dark and stormy night and I wept in my bed; like I always do.

H. It was a dark and stormy night.

I. It was a dark and stormy night when a crack in perception opened up before me, grabbed me by the scruff of the neck, and pulled me screaming into a vortex where I almost lost consciousness, almost lost sanity, almost lost sight of a brave new dawn, a bright new dawn, bathed in the warmth of sunlight.

J. It was a dark and stormy night, making it a lousy night to be out in my wheelchair, but I still had to perform the hit tonight or lose out on 12 grand, which I needed to pay for my little sister’s cleft palate surgery next week, since my mother couldn’t afford it on her WalMart salary.

K. It was a dark and stormy night, as it always was, and Amy was in bed hearing the tv turn off. She knew that the storm was approaching and filling her full of fear, as it did every night. She always hid under the duvet, afraid; praying, but knowing there was little she could do. She cried. Her father never knocked!

L. It was a dark and stormy night so I relaxed by the fireplace, with hot chocolate and a book, I fell asleep on the floor.

M. It was a dark and stormy night, dirt picked up off the street ghostly looming under dim lights and a gun cracks with lightning before the sound dies returning to pattering water.

N. It was a dark and stormy night, but it just felt so right.

O. It was a dark and stormy night and his galoshes were heavy with mud as he walked away from St. James cemetery and his past.

Could you edit out the paragraphs, and ones with multiple sentences please? The directions where quite clear, and every competition I have ever entered DQed those who didn't follow the rules.

It's remarkable how many people don't understand what the word 'sentence' means.

It's also remarkable how many people don't understand the instruction "Please PM me your entry. Do not post it here."

Prime Minister, duh! You were meant to send the entry to the PM of a country of your choice.
