So Ponderable’s argument that speaking English as second language is worth risking your life to leave the EU land of unicorns and rainbows and head to the land of Brexit and hate.
Oh and you usual crock of silly anti-Brexit voter tropes.

Right.
Oh do shut up Colonel Blimp, they’ve been risking their lives from day one why would they stop at a short boat ride. Are you just pretending to be a dimwit.
Your watching too much Farage on GB news!

Moronic.

So they risk their lives and the lives of their families over a second language.

Maybe the UK is the target for these migrants because it is more attractive all round than the EU.
Yep.
Does anyone really believe that these people did this so they could find jobs in England?

They are already in the EU, way inside the EU, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Why would they risk their lives by illegally crossing one of the most dangerous short stretches of sea in the world?

Tell you what, instead of addressing the point why don’t you post some more of your lowbrow anti brexit voter tropes.

Agreed.
They weren't in danger and they weren't starving. France was taking care of them as refugees.
What they did was selfish and stupid, putting their children in danger like that.

BECAUSE THEY SPEAK ENGLISH NOT FRENCH. If it was just physical harm they were fleeing they would stay in Greece or Italy.
Try to get it through your skull that they the UK in mind when they left their own country. Given that we probably helped to blow their country and lives to smithereens why should they go to France or Germany and struggle with language issues when they can hop across the channel.
Do you think the people smugglers tell them how dangerous it is when they take their money?

You calling me a “halfwit” is a lazy ad hominem.

Me claiming you are gullible, is at least plausible.

An avoidable tragedy.
The news article talks about them leaving war-torn countries and of fleeing oppression and hate etc.

But hold on a sec…they had travelled through several European, no let’s say EU countries, none of which seemed acceptable including Germany I might say. And they were safely parked up in Mr Macron’s wonderful new-look France when they decided to r ...[text shortened]... streets, social care is being crippled by a corrupt government and we are out of fuel.

Thoughts?

Not from the guy who voted Brexit to get back control of our borders it’s not. Halfwit a perfectly reasonable summary of your position, especially when you accuse others of gullibility.

Perhaps France didn't welcome them, perhaps they put them in concentration camps on the coast and perhaps through neglect allowed the traffickers access.

Also perhaps France is in social, political and urban decay.

And maybe the EU doesn’t actually give a crap.
Or perhaps you should stop reading the Daily Heil.
