The goal was to increase opium production, not reduce it.
We were told they were trying to cut production, but you would have to be pretty gullible to believe it. The Taliban cut production by a lot in 6 months, but the most powerful military in the world could not do it in 20 years. Maybe we should have made a deal with the Taliban to cut opium production there since they seem to know how. LOL!!!!!!

We have a deal with the Taliban. Some people were in denial of it on here for a while, but partisan bias leads to denial of things a lot.

The same people that denied Biden had a deal with the Taliban will probably say they believe my government was trying to reduce opium production and just couldn't pull it off. Deep down inside I doubt they really believe that though. I'll bet one of the deals made with the Taliban is to not reduce opium production again.
Just because my government says they want to reduce opium production in Afghanistan doesn't mean anything. They lie. They invaded to increase opium production and that is what happened. The world has not changed that much fundamentally since the opium wars. The Opium Wars in the 19th century arose from China’s attempts to suppress the opium trade. The Afghanistan war arose from the Taliban's attempts to suppress opium production.

Since the state of Colorado has a climate similar to the climate of Afghanistan I think we should legalize it and grow it there. Let's not be hypocrites about it.
@Metal-Brain
Sure, that sounds good to me. The world needs MORE poppy seeds on their donuts and bagels.
@sonhouse saidPoppy seeds on donuts?

That's a crime against humanity.
@sh76
I was thinking of the story of an AF captain who got his troops donuts and they had poppy seeds on them.
There was a wee problem though: Said captain had to go up for a drug test and he tested positive for heroin!
Long story short, he got kicked out of the service, got a lawyer and they proved it was the donuts making it LOOK like he was a druggie.
He got reinstated after something like a year fighting the charges.
@sonhouse saidI think that was a Seinfeld episode.

@metal-brain saidWe're just waiting for you to come out with some schtick that opium is effective against COVID.

C'mon....go for it !! 😛
Nobody in their right mind believes the US tried to reduce opium production. Only a complete idiot would think that the most powerful military force in the world could not be able to accomplish lowering production if that was really their goal.
The US government is in the heroin business and they kill people to keep the money flowing from heroin. These are the people that say they care about human life while pushing gene vaccines on people by lying. Drug dealers want you to take the gene vaccines.
Only stupid people would think heroin dealers care about them. NATO protected heroin traffickers. The war with Serbia was to protect heroin traffickers. There is a clear pattern here.

@metal-brain saidI see your getting your lies in early, the Taliban have never reduced opium production because it’s their main source of income.

And when they continue to not cut it you’ll say look I told you they’ve made a deal with Biden. 😂
Serious question:- just who do you think is gullible enough to believe the garbage you spout? what is your target audience?

"Western sources in Kabul yesterday confirmed poppy production in Afghanistan had virtually ceased. This follows an edict issued last year by the Taliban's reclusive leader, Mullah Mohammed Omar, declaring opium to be un-Islamic.
The first Hadda's farmers knew of it was when a group of black-turbaned soldiers armed with Kalashnikovs turned up in their village. 'The Taliban came here and saw there were poppies. They hit some of the people and told them they would be taken to prison and tortured if they planted more seeds,' farmer Abdul Rashid said.
'Then the elders of the village talked to them and told the Taliban we would destroy the poppies ourselves. It took us four days to do. We used a tractor and cows to plough up the fields."

You are the one believing lies. The Taliban saw opium to be un-Islamic. Reports that it was their main source of income is a lie. Nobody ever claimed that until after Biden made a deal with them.

Why can't people in Colorado grow opium poppies and sell the opium?
It should grow well there.
