No -- what it shows is that all the politicians blubbering on ad nausea about sending everyone to college don't have a clue. The problem isn't that too few people are going, but rather, too many. Even worse, of the ones that are going, far too many are getting useless teaching degrees and degrees in social sciences; that would explain why so many of them are working at low-paying jobs that didn't require a degree in the first place, leaving them to sit around and kvetch about "how bad the economy is," and wish that the whole thing would implode in a socialist revolution so that their talents would finally be recognized.

Education makes you educated. Being a good, moral being makes one a good person.

Being a moral being has NOTHING to do with being educated.

If you doubt this, ask yourself why Hitlers regime had the most college educated leaders of any regime of his day.

Being educated seems to have made them all very well educated fools and killers.
If you go to college now and don't major in a hard science, all it does is make you a moron. Just look at how all these college kids on this site parade their ignorance on politics, history, economics, etc. We're doomed.

lol

It ain't that bad. The fact that the feeble minded are led astray by fools is nothing new. Take a look at history.

As long as there are people making a living by the sweat of their brow; as long as there are people dependent on trustworthy people -- there will always be at least a modicum of common sense to allow humanity to triumph.

Always remember -- Transnationalist Progressives are like cotton candy. They were made in a blizzard of sweetness and consist of air and sugar.

The fact that they are all kinder than we are shouldn't discourage us. We know that absolute equality is evil. For in its achievement, most must be brought down to a common and a uniform dullness of being that Winston Smith railed against, and which will envelop us only if we quit trying for goodness and kindness.

You need to control for income level. People who earn higher incomes are more likely to vote Republican, probably because they want to pay less tax.

Also if my memory serves me correctly the HS only or less group should make up about 60% of the US population. Does this data say that low education groups have a hig ...[text shortened]... of abstentions?

Edit: I was digging around the link a bit. Where was this data collected?
Independents as a group tend to lean conservative. The main reason for this is probably the contradictions inherent in the Republican platform (like trying to be libertarians and neocons at the same time), and the poor recent performance of GWB. Consequently, conservatives have more reason to distance themselves from the Republican party than liberals do from the Democrat party. Liberals might think the Dems aren't liberal enough but will usually still vote for them as the lesser of two evils.

If I was on welfare, just scrapping by, I would be all Obama. Yes, for free health care. Yes, for the redistribution of wealth. Yes, for more social programs.

But all I can see is more taxes to support all ...[text shortened]... own weight as a Citizen of our country, then you lose that right. Chew on that for a while!!
That's a slippery slope that could lead to most people not being able to earn enough money to pay that amount of tax, and only a small clique of the privileged few able to vote.

Your math's wrong. That's like four hundred percent.

Likely to misinterpret statistics: Democrats: 91% Republicans: 96%

In all seriousness, the poll clearly shows the trend which is common knowledge, really; poor people and intellectuals tend to be more leftist, while richer people which less brainpower tend to vote more to the right.

I didn't see the link before for some reason. Now I see that it is for the House of Representatives. This makes all that data pretty meaningless to me because you a vote for "Democrat" and "Republican" can mean very different things depending the state and district.

Those are conservative estimates, actual data may reveal far higher numbers.
