@kevcvs57 saidIf we cut to the chase, they fit a perfect definition of invading,,,to encroach.which is to intrude upon another person's territory.
I think everyone is allowed to use negative descriptors to describe actual violent invaders but that’s not what is going on at the US Mexican border.
The reason that there are so many at the border is because Trumps policy was to keep them on the Mexican side of it.
.
What better definition?
@averagejoe1 saidNo they don’t they fit the perfect definition of refuges or economic migrants. What the UK and later the US did to the Native American was an invasion carried out by force of arms.

What’s happing in your southern border is what happened on Ellis island for decades, the only difference is the skin colour of the people involved.

Exaggeration.
My maternal grandparents went through Ellis Island. Here is what I can tell you:
1. you had to have papers, which you cannot get, btw, if you had a criminal record
2. You had to have a sponsor here in the US near where you settle in.
3. you had to promise to work right away - no welfare
4. you had to be in good health.
If they did something like that with the immigrants in the south, I'd be Ok with it.
Also, they have to limit the numbers of people from each country and have a lottery
like they have done for the many ethnics of other countries before them.
Ya dig, Kev
PS: and Kev... notice how the MSM is not even touching what a Super Spreader th eborder is right now, and will be for years to come.

@suzianne saidI don't hear anyone refer to them as refugees, Suzie. Each group has their own set of reasons for emigrating.
Refugees?
If the people are not fleeing in terror for their lives, I don't believe they qualify to be refugees.
I'm not even sure of if the Venezuelans that have fled their country are called refugees.
The US has very quietly taken in about 500,000 of them
@Duchess64
Well the obvious solution to that problem is to mount the statue of liberty on a rotating platform so it looks at everyone in its 360 degree rotation.......
AOC among most ineffective lawmakers in Congress, according to study
Among all Democratic lawmakers, AOC was ranked 230th out of 2040 Congressional Democrats in terms of effectiveness.
A study has found that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic member of Congress from New York City and a young face in the party, has not been an effective politician in the legislature, based on a survey from the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking.
Ocasio- Cortez, popularly known as AOC , introduced a total of 21 “substantive” bills that did not receive substantial backing from other lawmakers, including committee and floor votes, according to the study, a project of Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia.

The Arab Times and the Jerusalem Post agree!
Unfortunately I could not get the opinion of The Guardian as they so far have been silent on the AOC issue. 😞 😛
The post that was quoted here has been removedFrance did us no favors by giving us that giant statue with the poem at the bottom.
It's sad that most Americans think that it is somehow part of our constitution, and it means the US must accept everybody from everywhere.
