Big Brother is Great. I love it. The editors play with the minds of the audience and contestants. This has been even by BB's standards a PR Coup of immense proportions.
It is obvious that the gang of 3 are ignorant and don't really like Shilpa, they are picking on her a bit maybe even bullying her. But there has been a massive overreaction. The ignorant group are not being intentionally racist but their stupidness is easy to edit to keep the story going.

she's being bullied because of her race so that in itself is racism; the worse part is it's all going on because of jade's ignorance... nothing's worse than ignorance! i think the worse comment made was by carol though who described someone on the show as "sub-human"; a term widely used by the germans during to the war to describe the jew... not one mention of that though in the paper

The first situation that I saw on TV which I interpret as clear racism was when Jades mom said and I paraphrase "I wouldnt give a present to an indian".....That old blond women instantly laughed and then jades mom said something along the lines of "I dont think I am rude" and Clio agreed with her. None of the women present called her up on saying that, they found it amusing, it is a clear racist comment.
The other factor is as Jermaine so eloquently described, the girls in the house are incredibly jealous of Shilpa because she carries herself with pride and is happy the way she is, she does not even command respect she gives it and only ask for it back when the house mates shout at her. They ask her questions like "how old was you when you lost your virginity" and another one "what type of underwear do you wear", ok admittedly I would like to know the answer to them questions! but the girls in the house are only asking her them to degrade her, not for chit chat or any other inconsequential purpose, its mild malice from young women who have no class.
They all talk with different accents, Yet they want to take the mick out of Shilpa`s and she has a lager Vocab than any of them!
If they are going to target her for being stuck up or condescending or whatever excuse they are targeting her for, then leave out her ethnic accent.
When I have experienced racism it has never bothered me, I really love my skin color and black hair and dark features, I wouldnt want to look like anyone else.
And to be honest I find alot racial comedy by guys like Dave Chappelle can be really funny but this is different, its done out spite. They want to hurt her but wont say anything racial to her face.
To sum it up its racism manifesting itself through total jealousy of a very fine human being.
I wish more girls in the UK were more like Shilpa and less like those silly slags Jade, Jo and that underage girlfriend of Teddy Sheringham.
I hope this is the end of Jade, live by the sword, die by the sword...
I feel sorry for Jo, she used to be in S Club 7, not in itself a great achievement, but now she's 'just' a washed up chain-smoking hag.
I'm undecided whether it's racism or not, but it's clearly very very embarassing for the 3 girls and I hope Jade gets booted out of the house tonight.
