Well, young George has never been known for his diplomacy, but his simplicity on this issue is surely a gaff of major proportions, even in comparison to his others.

Yeah, I would say that meeting with the leaders of Croatia, Albania and Macedonia, without meeting with the leader of Serbia, while declaring independence of Kosovo.... is just slightly idiotic. But well, that's Bush.

Albania must not be to current on their current affairs.

Do any of you really think Bush does anything by himself, that he decides any of these things?

Or isn't it more realistic that he surrounded by highly intelligent advisors, who tell him exactly who to speak to etc.

Just because we don't always understand what's going on or see the bigger picture, does not mean Bush is an idiot!

Of course there is method behind their madness. Support the u.s. in whatever military action they chose and you will get their support for absolutely anything you want.

The message is clear. Still doesn't make it right that a world leader can basically declare a place independent, while dialogue is ongoing. The lack of tact and (positive) diplomacy is when the idiot card gets pulled out.

On the news this morning they claimed that Bush himself had removed it and put it in his pocket.(edit:-which begs the question, did he not trust his new found foreign admirers?)

Is that just spin to protect the reputation of the secret service, that they were not vigilant enough and allowed someone to come close enough to the leader of the free world and slip his watch off his wrist?

You can see the guy lifting it. It's towards the start. From 3:10 to 3:07 remaining to go.

Just goes to show that somebody with a razor blade could have had a word about Bush' proclamation of independence for Kosova, and would have gotten away in the crowd as well.

Actually, there's a video out there that shows him putting it in his pocket as kmax said.

Actually, want to post a link?

And you disagree with the video link I posted which showed him with a watch on, then a guy in the crowd taking it off, then Bush with no watch?

No, you see clearly that he had a watch and then he later didn't.

Here's the video, wait for the footage from the other angle:
