And besides, I'm not limiting or discriminating against homosexuals in this thread, I'm proposing that we protect marriage between one man and one woman and strengthen it since it's the bedrock of our society and civilization for the past 2,000+ years. Indeed, you should think of the children, since they're our future. When everyone has the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want with whomever they want, what kind of world will that be? You tolerance for anything, anytime, anywhere is appalling and you should think more about the society at large, which I will remind you that you're a part of. So stand up straight (pun intended, in case you didn't get it) and fly right.

So you would limit a citizen's choice to make a legally binding habitation/inheritance contract to only a person of the opposite sex? Your romantic view of the institution of marriage, which evolved around those two key facts - possession of women for the production and care of children, and the education of children - is as outdated as the idea of the institution itself.

Society 'at large' is a diverse, ever-changing thing. This isn't about giving "everyone...the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want with whomever they want", it's about a legal contract between two consenting, mature citizens. Who gives YOU the right to take away that equality under the eyes of the law? God? Your own notions of right and wrong, based upon naive prejudices of a non-existent halcyon society?

While it is true that our interactions with members of other cultures has increased significantly over the past 50 years, the things that brought us this far are still relevant today, including the wisdom contained in the Bible and a clearly defined notion of marriage (i.e., one man and one woman). Although you may want to enter into a brave new world of polymorphous perversity, I and others do not.

More garbage. Virtually every species on earth eventually finds an equilibrium with its environment. Humans for centuries have not found this balance. In western societies we have finally reached a point where we are not producing as many offspring as we used to. It is the first step that we are on that will reduce our resource consumption and bring us into equilibrium. Non-western societies are still producing offspring at rates similar to what western rates USED to be. But this has nothing to do with responsibilities to produce offspring at the same rate we used to.
The christian, "GO FORTH AND MULITPLY" mantra was not an edict from God ffs, it was just a way to ensure an increase in the number of Christians around the world.
So please, shove your bible pumping vitrole up your ass, get your head out of your dark ages closet and see society for what it is.
