@shavixmir saidExactly that, except from the (usually pseudo(!)-feminist) left. Taking the tactics of the little-member neo-cons and applying it, even less honestly, from the little-principled neo-left side. Generally aimed at destroying the lives of white, middle-aged men who haven't paid enough lip service to the fake-woke agenda of the commentarati.
What the F is cancel culture?
Is this another one of those alt-right snowflake fads where they wrap themselves up in victimhood and blame everyone but themselves for the woes nobody else really experiences?
Is it clear enough that I have a deep disdain for both sides?

@shallow-blue saidActually, to be truthful, both sides are a serious pain in my arse at work.

Their allergy towards each other (I’m in the unfortunate position I actually have to constructively work with both sides on the issues of diversity and inclusion) is rubbing me in such a manner I share your deep disdain of the lot of them.
On this subject. On most subjects they are all perfectly normal, healthy and charming people.
No wonder I’m going bald.

@shavixmir
Cancel BS and their ideals limit the shows and movies we make because the sensitivity of the left limits our creative license.
(They get offended because they are weak.
The right does not get offended by far right jokes...the left does get offended by liberal and politically incorrect jokes)
You of all people should be against this considering your main joke is incest.

@enihkela saidI’m as far left as they come.

Do I care about what films you make? Do I seem overly sensative to you?
What I read in your post is victimhood.
How has your creative license been limited the last 4 years?
Were you not allowed to turn your back to the national anthem before a sports match?
Were you not allowed to post Jordon Peterson videos on Youtube?
Were you not allowe to spew Qanon rubbish on every form of social media?
How was your creative license really limited?

@enihkela saidWhich shows were cancelled?
Movies and shows are cancelled because of your people.
(Sensitivity Clowns)
Don't deny it.
Denial is a stinky cologne.
Did you not have Fox news on 24 hours a day spewing right-wing garbage and conspiracy theories?
Well?
Which show was cancelled?
How was YOUR creativity limited?

@enihkela saidI’m insulted by your existence. I don’t want you cancelled though.
Cancel Culture is about the Left being offended by TV shows and Movies.
Your people Marky Mark...
Your people cause it.
Pussies.
You’re like a little mouse trapped in a cage. Running around aimlessly, whilst kids prod it with a pencil.
Changing your name after every ban, but too stupid to know what gives you away.

@enihkela saidname a show that was canceled because of cancel culture and not because it had too poor ratings for the network to bother with a few sensitives online.

Cancel culture isn't a real thing. There are a few whiney bitchz online, on both sides, given a loud voice by social media. They are not representative of either side. And if you don't agree with them, put an effort to counter them. Go online and get people to scream with you that Alex Jones is totally ok and shouldn't be exiled to the darkest pits of the internet.

The left doesn’t get upset about anti left jokes any more than the right gets upset about anti right jokes.
If you are talking about racist, homophobic, anti trans jokes then say so. A lot of people regardless of their preferred politico economical set up take offence at that category of joke.

@zahlanzi saidOh, it's real, all right. But it isn't used against right wing people. It can't hurt the right, because they don't create for the audience and publishers that listen to cancel calls.
Cancel culture isn't a real thing.
Cancel culture is used against people who are left of centre, but not left enough. Or the wrong kind of left. Or too male, or too white, or too straight. Or who made an unfortunate remark that was taken out of context. Or who once were not as left, and did or said things they no longer agree with, but must still be made to suffer for the rest of their lives.
Cancel culture is real. The neo-right is not being canceled.
@zahlanzi saidYou're talking about criticism not cancellation.

I think the difference between 'criticism' as you write about, and 'cancellation' is the added component of punishment. Not only is that person to be forced to apologize, but there must be significant consequences and lasting financial scars. It's not a new thing but internet culture makes it worse. People are shamed online all the time, but other kids are losing scholarships at colleges or CEOs forced to resign from their jobs for quite minor offenses to the social order (e.g. saying the n word in a tik toc video). On a larger scale, this has also worked. Kaepernick should not just have to face the music regarding his disrespect for the flag, he should never work in the NFL again. Or there was legitimate criticism about some of Al Franken's behavior online because he made a lewd gesture to a woman while she was sleeping. He apologized but that was not enough. He was a good senator but forced to resign from the US senate because of a photograph taken more than a decade earlier.
Note that both of my examples are liberals who were cancelled. Do you think Josh Hawley is going to resign though? He's not being cancelled but he sure likes complaining about it.

@shallow-blue saidso basically you're saying the same thing as them, only you feel other kinds of people are silenced.

Ok, i will ask you the same thing. Who left of the centre got "canceled" that you are claiming cancel culture is a thing and not a feeling.
