You're right, there is no point in arguing with irrational people. However, it is important to counter half-truths peddled by fear-mongers so that others see that he is wrong, even if he himself never sees or admits it.

Yes, it speaks volumes about Trump that he repeats all sorts of utter baloney he has heard on tv or the Internet, without knowing or seeming to care whether a) it is true, or b) it would be good or bad if it were. And this is the man with his finger on the nuclear button. One scarcely knows whether to laugh or weep.
