Disclaimer: I'm no mathematician, but I'm interested in numbers.

I've spent hours on the worldometers site, and checked a lot of their references over many days.

I honestly don't believe a single number that appears on the list. For a start, it's not presented on a per capita basis, so its 'leagues table' is essentially meaningless.
Then, eac ...[text shortened]... a you can be sure of is close to home and comes from face-to-face interaction with people you trust.

Give this a bit of thought how many have died of Covid-19/Corona virus which ever you prefer and not even been reported. Or real facts of how many not give out to the public. I am not just talking about China here. I am including other countries as well.

@trev33 saidNice post. Vietnam, no deaths? Sits just below China, not far from the origin with people in January moving freely to and from China. That’s a puzzle. A lot of fear mongering in other countries, unfortunately the economical impact will cause more suffering than the actual virus.

Australia closed borders early and we all worked hard, got numbers almost to nothing and without much economic damage due to government pump-priming. Then a few partying people breached hotel quarantine and it got out into the suburbs and then to the aged care homes and schools. You can all be doing everything right and then a couple of insanely stupid people can destroy everything for everyone.

COVID-19 feels like a psychotic teenager carrying a nuclear IED into a crowded shopping/business/hotel complex. There can't be a good outcome and all the finger-pointing won't change a thing.

It's time for our focus to get off the anger and lawsuits and start finding ways to reduce the damage.

There is no link with the COVID virus.
