If you thought Iraq was unsettled before, wait till the feces hits the species when he gets hung. Perhaps he desrves to hang out with his friends, so to speak, but are we prepared to pay the inevitable cost?

Man, forget about it and join the bet we're doing: How many minutes
will take for the execution video to hit youtube.

I have my 20 bucks on 15-20 minutes.

If Iraq decides that he gets the short drop sudden stop, it's there decision. The U.S. military started this, and they will take whatever heat comes their way as a result of his death without complaint. Britian will likely take some heat also, and react the same way.

Not because they want, but because they have to. They're soldiers.

I don't think it will be as bad as feared. Saddam was a Sunni, and they are being handled pretty well by the Shia. The Sunni terrorized the Shia for a couple of generations and the Shia have had enough.

I don't think we can afford to fear the retribution of justice.

String the sod up and be done with it.

If his "followers" come out of their holes and make a fuss, so much the better .. targets.

Hmmm...the real issue isn't whether or not chaos will be unleashed and hundreds of people will die, but rather how the hell we're going to tell the difference between that and the status quo.

Yes they do. For example the Democracy Now radio program has questioned the legitimacy of the Saddam trial : http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/11/06/1450234&mode=thread&tid=25 . The thing you have to remember about America is that there's lots of good information coming out from over there, it's a question of how many people are willing to open their ears to it.

And it sure as heck isn't working in Iraq and for sure won't work if the frothing at the mouth oil sucking so-called administration we are saddled with in America attacks Iran.

As usual, long on "arm-chair coaching", short on action.
