Article 1, Section 9, Clause 1
And for ignorant libs…there are rights, and there are constitutional rights. Learn how to distinguish between the two.

@averagejoe1 saidThe SCOTUS main job is protecting the People from government encroachments on their rights. Therefore, they are very much involved in questions of invasion of the right of bodily autonomy by State penal laws.
Yes. So? Dont tell me that you are one of the persons that do not understand the Roe decision, and that has elected to harp about abortion from a different point of view. Marauder, that point of view has been on the forum for years....Should a woman abort (or be able to abort) of her own volition. Great question, y'all stay with it. But don't confuse people like Jimmmmm by bringing the Constitution into it. It is not involved, nor is SCOTUS.

@no1marauder saidAmazing this has to be explaned. The USA is just that, several states united together under a set of laws (constitution)
Really? What is the difference according to you?
The people are guaranteed certain rights by that constitution. There is a section (bill or rights) explaining those rights.
The individual states are allowed to give citizens further rights as long as they comply with those listed in the constitution.
I can breakout the crayons and add pictures if need be.
@mott-the-hoople saidWill you read the Ninth Amendment please?

People aren't "given" rights by governments or by documents written by men; read the DoC.

@mott-the-hoople saidSee what I mean, Sleepy? Just because someone can read or even recite the DoC doesn't mean they understand it.

@mott-the-hoople saidAll humans have rights, the same rights. Just because the New Zealand goobermint or the North Korean goobermint abuses those rights doesn't mean people don't have them, it just means exactly what it says, the very organisation supposedly meant to protect those rights is invariably the worst abusers.

@mghrn55 saidWatch it MG, you are digging a hole. If the framers confirmed that the rights came from an entity that it ends up is non-existent, then the 'rights' do not exist!!!!!
What Creator ?? Babbling again ? 😛
So we need to tell Marauder he has to re-write all of his screeds about these seeming rights that we are all supposed to have. There are NO rights.
Ball in your court.
Libs. Jesus .

@averagejoe1 saidHey, Marauder , did you miss this one? I like real simple basic issues.
I go this, Sleepy. Hey, Teach!....Marauder! Your confusing posts may be reason that the jjimmm person writes like an idiot, something to think about it. I get a bit twitchy, myself.
We do have immigration laws. Love your saying 'anti-immigration" laws. Anyway, we gladly have admitted millions of immigrants, love them to death. Constitution framers were correct, ...[text shortened]... k about President Biden, after all the work that had been done for 244 years, before he took office?
So, what do you think?

@mott-the-hoople saidThe political prisoner standing in front of a firing squad with a bullet rushing towards his head has the same right to life everyone else has.
