In any event what would you do different were you in charge to ensure that communism worked the way you wanted it to ?
Not least because it didn't exist.
There are many things people would advocate doing differently, and of course there's much debate. All with the benefit of hindsight, of course.
Some examples:
- the idea that you could spread socialism by invading other countries was never going to work;
- Stalin was, in every sense, a disaster. He shouldn't have succeeded Lenin.
