@no1marauder saidTough break that your claim on society is no more valid than mine, society isn't a thing, it's a collection of things, i.e. humans, individuals. If I can find others to deal with voluntarily you have no business interfering. Not everyone believes your fairytales and one day, hopefully before you die, state worship will be exposed for what it is, another religion.
Tough break that you have to live in a society where there are rules to protect people from those who think they have a "right" to spread a deadly disease.
You have my pity. 😢
PS: Don't forget to stop at red lights.
And your eyes will be opened. Never has trust in goobermint and the parasites known as politicians been so low, one of the few good things to come from the panicdemic.
There are signs it's falling over, that the cure has been far worse than the disease, the only delays will be bureaurats trying to save face. There will be a few around here back pedaling too.
"When you're in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better," Fauci said, delivering air quotes. "But it's not providing the perfect protection people think that it is. Often there are unintended consequences: people keep fiddling with the mask, and they keep touching their face."

@no1marauder saidI could point out how the CDC and WHO has lied before, but that doesn't seem to affect your blind faith. You are bound and determined to believe liars as long as they are "official" liars.
The CDC's:
"We have the Tools to Fight Omicron
Vaccines
Vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect people from COVID-19, slow transmission, and reduce the likelihood of new variants emerging."
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/omicron-variant.html
WHO:
"The most effective steps individuals can take to reduce the spread of ...[text shortened]... nd pandemics, over internet dilettantes with little knowledge in any of the relevant fields any day.
There is no evidence the gene vaccines slow transmission. This has been proven to you countless times. Vaccinated people have the same viral load as unvaccinated people so I am calling you out on your BS.
Even if the unvaccinated had a higher viral load it would not prove they spread the SARS2 virus more. Behavior has just as much to do with spread as viral load and ALL OF THE STUDIES YOU POST OMIT THAT IMPORTANT FACTOR.
None of that will sway you though. You have too much faith in your liars, so I will simply ask you this. If the gene vaccines are effective against the omicron variant why is Pfizer making an omicron specific gene vaccine?

@earl-of-trumps saidNot to worry, Joe Biden promised us two years ago that he had a plan that would shut down the virus for good.
I think they knew all along that the vaccines were not working, they told us long ago that
vax'd people could carry a full viral load just like unvax'd people. Just as dangerous to be near.
Unfortunately, as we have learned, social distancing does not adequately work, nor do masks.
But the biggest disappointment is that the vaccines are pretty much nothing more t ...[text shortened]...

@no1marauder saidWe don't often agree. But it is literally amazing that people are arguing with you.

@quackquack saidVaccines are awesome because, when you get Omicron, the vaccine will most likely keep it mild or asymptomatic and almost certainly keep you out of the hospital or cemetery, but I've seen no indication that vaccines do a lot of stop the spread of Omicron.
We don't often agree. But it is literally amazing that people are arguing with you.
But if anyone has any evidence to that effect (evidence is not, for example, CDC guidance), by all means, reference it. I'd love to read it. My whole family is vaxxed and my wife and I are boosted (well, the 10 year old isn't vaxxed yet, but she has an appointment for her first shot on Sunday) and I'd love to hear that we're not going to get Omicron. But so far, all I see in real life is that Omicron seems to be ripping through heavily vaccinated countries just as easily as in other countries and every time you turn around, another vaxxed and boosted athlete or public figure is testing positive.
@no1marauder saidGeez. How much evidence do you need that vaccines aren't stopping Omicron from spreading?
I'm confused; I asked for a cite from the CDC and/or WHO, not from NPR or SA. Last I checked their advice was still that the best way to slow the spread of COVID19, including Omnicron, was to get vaccinated.
There's no such place as one that is "fully vaccinated" in the US as you surely know.

@cliff-mashburn saidYeah, things didn't quite turn out as expected, did they ?
Not to worry, Joe Biden promised us two years ago that he had a plan that would shut down the virus for good.
He said it constantly while he was campaigning.
A couple of new variants, the most recent which nobody saw coming.
Governments and health experts (like Fauci) make recommendations based on the information they have at hand at the moment.
Rand Paul's performance against Fauci in the Senate hearing this week was .....well ..... embarrassing !!
This pandemic is a moving target, and recommendations and policies can change at any time.
And many, including experts, will have differing opinions on the subject. Which is normal.
The line is crossed when those differing opinions are driven by political ambitions.
One, trying whitewash the pathetic response by the Trump administration by smearing others. Trump probably added to the death count potentially in the hundreds of thousands. And yet, there are those who are trying smooth out the path for Trump 2024.
Two, several GOP run states, Florida and Texas in particular, actively opposing any vaccine rollout strategy implemented by the Biden administration for their own political gain and to minimize any notion of a Biden political achievement.
I cringe to think what the pandemic in the US would look like if Trump was still president. Kung Flu !!!! 😢

@no1marauder saidOh, for crying out loud. You're resorting to semantics because you know you have no case on this issue.

Why are you channeling MB?
"Dramatically slowing"
"Preventing wild uncontrolled spread"
"Containing"

@sh76 saidI trust in the CDC and WHO evaluations that higher levels of the vaccinated results in a slower spread of omnicron rather than your claim that even a 100% vaccination rate would make no difference.

Another 2699 COVID deaths were reported in the US yesterday; more evidence of omnicron's "mildness"?
