http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-08-15/ukraine-says-it-destroyed-part-of-armed-vehicles-from-russia.html

Ukraine said its troops attacked and partially destroyed a column of armed vehicles that had crossed the border from Russian territory, while Russia said it was concerned about an attack on another convoy carrying aid.

How will Putin react? You know Obama isn't going to do anything no matter what Putin does.

This Ukraine situation may very well become Russia's Viet Nam, not WWIII. As far as Obama "not doing anything" you might consider America is not here to police the world. Perhaps letting Russia bleed it's resources in this stupid effort to expand it's influence would teach Russia a lesson without spend America's resources in doing so.

Sun Tzu's Art of War: 17

Thus we may know that there are five essentials for victory: (1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.

Commentary: Chang Yu said: "Knowing the enemy enables you to take the offensive, knowing yourself enables you to stand on the defensive." He adds: "Attack is the secret of defense; defense is the planning of an attack." It would be hard to find a better epitome of the root-principle of war.

I think we owe it to Eastern Europe since we already fed them to the bear once.

What are you talking about? The USA has absolutely NOTHING to do with Ukraine. We never have.

We should never have allowed the Russians any influence outside of Russia after WWII.

1) We have never been ABLE to suppress Russia in East Europe or North Asia.

2) Why should we care about what the Russians do in eastern Europe?

We could have prevented their influence. It might have meant war, but we could have done it.

We fed them to the bear so that we would not have to fight the bear.

2) It is right to allow Eastern Europe to be free of Russian aggression.

War in what way? You wanted us to land in Europe in the late 1940s and invade eastern Europe and go toe to toe with the Red Army?

Precisely what do you think the US should have done? Declare war on the USSR right after the surrender of Nazi Germany, while it was still fighting Japan?

The US scooped up more Nazies than most realize in areas of expertise other than science. One day we may be liberated by the Ruskies from the country the Nazies have now thoroughly corrupted. At the end of ww2 there were too many "Reds" in American politics to move against Russia, and Russia developed nuclear weapons before the Nazi corruption of America. May have been a blessing in disguise.

We would not have needed to declare war on Russia, they would have declared it on us when we told them they could no influence on Eastern Europe.

They would laugh when we brought our military in to defend people like the modern Ukrainians?
