“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

I mean… it seems everyone except you and the koala-arse rimmer know quite well what the benefits and limitations of the mask wearing are…
Yet you stick to some or other vague truth that doesn’t even make common sense.
And you do that very often on all sorts of subjects…
Very tinfoil hat stuff too.
How do you know you’ve not been led down a rabbit hole and bamboozled. Indeed, how do you even know you’re not a sim in some alien kid’s computer game?
Are you even here at all?
Who are you?

Yes, a virus particle is much too small for any N95 mask to filter out.
However, naked virus particles hardly exist in the air, and any that might exist are too few in number to constitute an infectious load. As with most diseases, to catch Covid one must be exposed to probably thousands of virus particles in one go, so naked Covid viruses are not a concern.
In fact, airborne Covid virus particles are practically always swimming in moisture droplets, and a fair percentage of these droplets are big enough to be blocked directly by an N95 mask's fine mesh. Then there are the very tiny droplets that in theory could float through the fabric of an N95 mask. But here's the trick: being so tiny, these droplets are steered by even very weak electrostatic charges, especially since they are comprised chiefly of water -- a polar molecule. A mask's material will always have some such charge, and so a fair amount of these tiny droplets get stuck to the mask rather than pass through it. This is part of the power of the N95 protocol. It is not all about the fineness of the weave, and never has been for several decades. Established science.
The biggest problem with masks is wearing them properly in the field. Without a hermetic seal all around the perimeter, an N95 loses a tremendous degree of efficacy. Surgical masks are even less efficacious. This is why being clean-shaven is important,* and use of an adhesive is a good idea.
* EDIT: Actually it's only necessary to be clean-shaven in the areas where the edge of a mask will be. A goatee or Hitler mustache would cause no problems.

Here we go...
First, this thread I thought was supposed to be about masks "not working." Or something like that. But here you're going on and on about, I guess, any and every odd anecdote about the politics surrounding masks. Mask mandates have or will soon expire the world over, so why not turn to other pressing matters like the tyranny of traffic signals or whatever else your petulant little sensibilities find unnerving?
Second, anyone flying on a plane is likely to be someone who doesn't care about catching Covid, or at least doesn't care very much. There would probably be a lot of cheering at the annual conference of the International Brotherhood of Lead Miners if the world went back to using lead pipes in all its plumbing. What's your stupid video of plane passengers supposed to prove? If you're just trying to advertise that you have only childish emotions backing your side of the argument, and nothing else, please understand that this is already dead obvious.
@soothfast saidThat's what happens when you argue with yourself.

Shag doody for brains can vouch for me here, I have always maintained that masks can help to a very small degree given a lot of very specific mask handling criteria are met.
So there you go indeed.

Read my post again very carefully. I've not commented on your take on the efficacy of masks. My first post is not directed at anyone specifically.

There was no one specific, which leaves you.

Instead of babbling like a Pentacostal on LSD, why don't you knock your head in with a hammer and see if the bruise grows a brain.

First you're talking to no one specifically.
" I ask myself."
Now you're talking to yourself.
Maybe you don't know how debates work, you should take it to the schizos conversating with themselves board

What's the point of your idiotic YouTube links? It brings nothing substantive to the table, and certainly does not score you any debate points. You're such an empty suit I'm guessing you sleep on a coat hanger.

The point of the Y tube links is that this is where mask mandates go, be careful what you wish for you might just get a hand gripping your throat.

"Matter at hand." I know you love that phrase, so I'll use it as often as possible.
There is indeed an awful lot of black-and-white thinking amongst the right-wingers on this forum. What else processes information in binary? Computers, of course.
You're a credit to your programming, but your logic sucks. The police, especially in the US, get overzealous quite often. Trust you to take an incident involving a mask mandate and blame the mandate rather than the truly culpable party. And if the police beat the crap out of someone for speeding, do you hold that up as proof that speed limits are a tyranny that must be overthrown?
