There's a lot of claiming going on here. So if somebody claims something, how do you know if they are really claiming it, or only claiming to be claiming it, and if they are only claiming to claim it, then if someone is counter - claiming it as a false claim, how does the counter - claimant know whether the first claim was only a claim, and indeed how does the first claimant know whether the counter claimant is really claiming to make a counter claim, or only claiming to be counter claiming?
Do you see what I'm driving at?

"It's generally accepted" ...explain that concept and how you arrived at stating it.
In fact it is clear that rape is not normally something that instills pride in People. It is very personal, and it is commonly a 1:1 Situation.
Of course historians agree that victims were blamed for having been raped throughout most of history. And at least in Germany even in the lat few decades it has been reported that Police persons wouldn't be bothered to fill in the paperwork asking questions like: "didn't you have at least some fun...?" A rape victim confronted with that is not normally looking to bring the offense to court. And even then there might be not enough evidence that the intercourse was not in concent.
This should all be very clear to a Basic educated Person.

Rape (and sexual assault) is the single most under-reported crime. Those who do not report it say overwhelmingly it is because their story will not be believed. The Kavanaugh debacle supports this.
IF this story is true (it IS the New York Post, after all), then yes, those girls should be punished. "Crying wolf" is not a joke. I hope none of those girls actually gets raped now.

There is too much explaining why claims that are not proven might be true anyway and too little protection and sympathy for those accused of unproven claims.
