I have said in here repeatedly, this election is not between Trump and Biden,
it is between the two widely divergent ideologies of the left and right.
The central issue in any re-election campaign is whether the incumbent has performed competently enough to deserve another term. We both know the answer to that as does the Trump campaign which is why it is fighting so bitterly to suppress as many votes as possible.

@vivify saidThis is true, most Americans wouldn't know a hard left policy if it jumped up and bit them. In my line of work I've met and befriended many Americans, and I haven't met a bad one yet, but their political perceptions are way off beam from a European perspective.

The assumption is that 2 ideologies are widely divergent.
The validity of your statement is dependent on the accuracy of your assumption.

Furthermore, you misrepresent the ideology of the Democrats.
If they were placed in almost any other country with a free market economy, they would be Center right.

The Democrats and Republicans are probably closer ideologically than the left and right in most other countries.
