Why not just live on them and build another one when they go tits up?

That's a big part of the problem.......While pumping out ever increasing amounts of CO2, we are chopping down the rain forests...........

We're also creating dams which flood forests which then rot and give off more gas.

Not really. The problems aren't just CO2, it's also decreased water availability, increased levels of SO2 in the atmosphere (although these are largely being brought down due to changes in the way we manufacture petrol), and increased soil respiration due to the increased temperature. The increased Co2 might increase photosynthe by 5-10% in well watered areas, but those will become fewer and fewer as problems of drought increase.

Nice one scottish, you're getting the idea, I don't care how worked up the alarmists like yourself get...but the minute you blokes start talking control, regulation, taxes and subsidies for your uneconomic pet projects that can't get voluntary funding, that's when the line is crossed.
Wait, your the one who doesn't want our kids to pay into common funds so we can all have health care etc, because they "don't owe you anything", but have no qualms about leaving them a crappy polluted planet? Man, if I was generations of the future I wouldn't want to support you!

I never meant to state that anything was truth, other than that human caused GW has not be proven. More accurately maybe I should have stated that it hasn't been proven that I have been privy to. And that is still undenyably true.

You started off by casting doubts into people's minds. It would have been more responsible of you to take the time to research such an important issue before considering a post.

This appears to be what you also did when re-banning STANG.

With you being a moderator, it is a concern that your own profile states "Work is overloading me, literally. I'll try to move when I can but I'm on doctors orders to slow down, and although this isn't going to happen in a hurry RHP time".

Maybe it's time for you to quit ?

The next generation should pay for my health care?....ugh....that's a total anathema to me. What do you actually mean? A person through the toss of a coin happens to be born in NZ 20 years after me therefore they owe me life long free health care? Ugh....my lip sneers in derision, I wish I could spit the thought out, you truly are a sick guy.

As for leaving a crappy polluted planet. What has been my contribution? Worst case scenario, give us some figures, since this is a global warming thread what is my contribution to the temp going up? Let's see 200 years of industrialisation, 6 billion people alive now added to all those that lived in the last 200 years. Divide what? let's be extravagant 1 degree C (if we accept man is responsible for temp rise....actual), divide that 1 degree C by say, let's be conservative, 15 billion people.

Now let's look at my actual contribution, a working career as a fitter welder, maintaining ships for exporting importing goods, work in paper plants, milk factories, construction, the (gasp) petrol industry (ever used some?) hydro industry, mining industry...you get the picture...

...and all of this done for ME...yes ME...for a weekly pay packet, and all of it done by voluntary trade...yes my employer used me for HIS own ends...and I'm grateful for that.

Now let's look at scottish...he's paid with money extracted from people against their will.

enuff frickin said.
