While I agree pot should be legal, that's like asking why cars are legal and not weed since cars are more deadly.

Guns have a non-recreational use.

The verb is "treat" and of course they don't like it because it is "practicing medicine" which is extremely highly regulated -- so highly regulated that there is acutally nothing MORE highly regulated except weaponry. (The more highly regulated a thing, the more it costs - Milton Friedman. But let's not go there. BTW, ever price a cruise missile? -- yeah. That's what I'm talking about.)

And nothing pisses a certain class off like other people trying to go around the regulations. Even when it makes sense.
