I've actually got a serious question about all this.
Yes. The universe is 14 billion years old (much like some Swiss cheeses, by the way).
Yes. The universe is expanding...
And this is what baffles me. If the univese is expanding, then the stars are moving. And they're moving in a coherent direction. So...where are they moving from? Where is this center of the universe?
I once was told there is no center of the universe. But if this is possible, how can the universe be exanding?
All help on this matter (serious fcuking answers please, none of that SPAM or religious crap, thank you very much) is welcome!

Where the raisins are stars that move apart from each other as
the bun expands.
Stephen Hawkins considers it more doughnut shaped which would
make sense as a even a bun has a centre.
Maybe if our physicists didn't spend so much time in the pastry shop,
we might have a reasonable answer.

He was trying to say that a cat cannot be some mix between a dead state and an alive state until it is observed, that it is one or the other before we see it just as much as after.

Did the universe exist before measurement or did it just
probably exist?

So if we were to humour me and say that our universe exists only
by means of measurements made by conciousness.
How big would this universe be?

of sensory information in its life time.
If we measured the universe by the total amount of sensory information, ever
processed by consciousness, it would only be in the order of 10^30 bits.
That would make the universe very small indeed.
