Go. Don't file your income tax returns. I hope they catch you. Then have fun screaming about the unconstitutionality of the income tax from your 8x10 guestroom at ...[text shortened]... no society in the history of mankind has it been "illegal" to hold a convicted mass murderer.
In no society in the history of mankind has it been "illegal" to hold a convicted mass murderer

Careful, you're going to turn into one of us natural rights nuts if you go talking like that.

It has saved me lots of money over the years, Who's the fool... laugh if it makes you happy.

Al Capone didn't believe the IRS had any power either.

Wow, the IRS sure is incompetent if they can't catch a tax dodger after 10 years.

That they haven't come after you yet doesn't mean that they can't or won't.

You can do what you want with your own life, but please don't ruin other people's lives by feeding them this nonsense.

Yes. Now extrapolate that same incompetence across the rest of the govt and you can see why we need to make it smaller.

in the least painful way possible, I present you all with a proposal: increase the
federal gasoline tax by $0.0009 per gallon.

You're no doubt laughing at the thought, but hear me out. I can't remember
the last time I saw a gasoline price that wasn't listed to nine tent ...[text shortened]... 184 to $0.284). So, why not go for the extra $0.0009
per gallon for the time being?
I would like to see the federal gasoline tax eliminated. It is extremely wasteful. Consider that almost no State gets 100% of the gas tax they collect. A large amount is wasted in administrative fat, and some on popular but ineffective mass transit boondoggles.

Oh, it is also used as a club to force states to follow unfunded mandates.

Why not leave the gas tax with the States that collect it, and where the actual roads are built and improved? Yes, there would be administrative waste still, but at only one level, instead of two.

And what about the effects on the transportation industry, and consumer goods? Everything in the store you shop at gets there by truck?

And, what about the cars that will not be purchased, due to the inability of the poor to be able to afford fuel?

Both political parties share the blame, because in most cases, the President and the party majority in the House has been different, or split between House and Senate.

Clearly, raising taxes is no incentive to slow down spending for either party.

The problem with the IRS is that small taxpayers can often successfully dodge what little tax they owe. It is just not economical to chase down small amounts. The longer you screw them, the more it becomes worth pursuing you.

Then there is the fact that about 47% of wage earners have no income tax liability, and many are eligible for EITC, and are screwing themselves by not filing.

We are at or near a point where a majority doesn't care about high taxes because it is someone else's problem.

That's what happens when only a few people have almost all the money.

What about it?

What about the people who will pay less taxes because they use a fuel-efficient car or use public transport?

What about the people employed in the construction sector?

A missing $400 billion? Hell man, the head of the IRS does not even pay income taxes. In fact, where did all the stimulus money to go? I think you will find that most of the money flowing into Washington is unaccounted for. However, instead of supporting people who wish to reform the system all you do is champion the other party to do the same things.

Again, I have no interest in defending "W" and his ilk, thanks for asking.
