LOL.
People like you force the IRS to waste lots of time to rebut moronic contentions like these, but rebut it they do.
Thoroughly.

Go. Don't file your income tax returns. I hope they catch you. Then have fun screaming about the unconstitutionality of the income tax from your 8x10 guestroom at ...[text shortened]... no society in the history of mankind has it been "illegal" to hold a convicted mass murderer.
Careful, you're going to turn into one of us natural rights nuts if you go talking like that.

Ha ha ha ha ha thanks for the kind words.
I've not put in a 1040 for just over ten years now and I informed the IRS that I had no intention of paying a tax that does not exist and I've not heard from them since.
It has saved me lots of money over the years, Who's the fool... laugh if it makes you happy.
As for Marwan Barghouti I will only say... ...[text shortened]... s terrorist is and mans freedom fighter.
Have a nice Christmas and keep paying your tax!!!

You can do what you want with your own life, but please don't ruin other people's lives by feeding them this nonsense.
Originally posted by wittywonkaI would like to see the federal gasoline tax eliminated. It is extremely wasteful. Consider that almost no State gets 100% of the gas tax they collect. A large amount is wasted in administrative fat, and some on popular but ineffective mass transit boondoggles.
In the context of the U.S. government's desperation to increase its net revenue
in the least painful way possible, I present you all with a proposal: increase the
federal gasoline tax by $0.0009 per gallon.
You're no doubt laughing at the thought, but hear me out. I can't remember
the last time I saw a gasoline price that wasn't listed to nine tent ...[text shortened]... 184 to $0.284). So, why not go for the extra $0.0009
per gallon for the time being?
Oh, it is also used as a club to force states to follow unfunded mandates.
Why not leave the gas tax with the States that collect it, and where the actual roads are built and improved? Yes, there would be administrative waste still, but at only one level, instead of two.
Originally posted by KazetNagorraAnd what about the effects on the transportation industry, and consumer goods? Everything in the store you shop at gets there by truck?
They should increase the tax by about $1/gallon over a three year period (making the total increase $3/gallon). This would strongly encourage cleaner car engines, and the revenue can be used to patch up the crumbling infrastructure.
And, what about the cars that will not be purchased, due to the inability of the poor to be able to afford fuel?
Originally posted by sonhouseBoth political parties share the blame, because in most cases, the President and the party majority in the House has been different, or split between House and Senate.
Are you kidding? You pick out one statement and comment on that? You clearly gloss over the fact that Bush Jr. gave out 3/4 of a trillion dollars, half of which is totally gone, down the drain of no return because there was no accountability to any of that money? We sure could use 400 billion dollars right now. At least Obama's packages had accountability. ...[text shortened]... er votes for republicans? I think you are going to be sadly disappointed come election time.
Clearly, raising taxes is no incentive to slow down spending for either party.
Originally posted by SleepyguyThe problem with the IRS is that small taxpayers can often successfully dodge what little tax they owe. It is just not economical to chase down small amounts. The longer you screw them, the more it becomes worth pursuing you.
Yes. Now extrapolate that same incompetence across the rest of the govt and you can see why we need to make it smaller.
Then there is the fact that about 47% of wage earners have no income tax liability, and many are eligible for EITC, and are screwing themselves by not filing.
We are at or near a point where a majority doesn't care about high taxes because it is someone else's problem.
Originally posted by normbenignThat's what happens when only a few people have almost all the money.

What about the people who will pay less taxes because they use a fuel-efficient car or use public transport?
What about the people employed in the construction sector?
Originally posted by sonhouseA missing $400 billion? Hell man, the head of the IRS does not even pay income taxes. In fact, where did all the stimulus money to go? I think you will find that most of the money flowing into Washington is unaccounted for. However, instead of supporting people who wish to reform the system all you do is champion the other party to do the same things.
You still haven't even had the nerve to comment on the missing 400 billion. Or is that to minor a subject even to be worthy of comment? That was a republican boondoggle. They love to give money away to the rich. Funny how it is the poor are poorer now and the rich are measurably richer thanks to their republican supplicants.
Again, I have no interest in defending "W" and his ilk, thanks for asking.
