According to the Associated Press, the last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions:

It appears that the people who lied were the dinosaur media and Joe Wilson and his wife, Valerie Plame.

You might want to actually read the articles you cite. This one clearly states:

Later, U.N. inspectors documented and safeguarded the yellowcake, which had been stored in aging drums and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake dating from after 1991, the official said.

So what? Hussein still had 550 tons of the stuff when we invaded and after the U.S. military found it, they had to sit on it because it was considered too risky to move, lest it fall into the hands of militants. In the meantime, President Bush had to keep quiet about it for reasons of national security and endure obnoxious taunts and outright lies from yahoos who weren't privy to this information. The way I see it, President Bush was right and they were wrong.

Yeah, the US military "found" it; right where the UN inspectors had put it under lock and key! It's existence was common knowledge, so Bush didn't have to keep quiet at all and didn't. All he had to do was read this BBC report 5 and a half years ago:

The visit was agreed after weeks of pleading by the IAEA, which has kept the radiological materials at the site safely under UN seal for 12 years

Bush said and I quote: "We know Saddam has weapons of mass destruction". He was wrong. Nothing in the article changes the fact that he was wrong. Your sight in this case is just another example of your stubborn refusal to face the unpleasant facts of the world (a typical problem with right wing extremists).

Bush was right?

In 2003 he said that he went to war to "disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end
Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people."

He had none of the first, and did little of the second (when compared, say, with Iran or Saudi
Arabia). We've failed on the third by all accounts, given that their country is in shambles and
in the midst of civil war.

The CIA itself reported that there were no WMD, and US government spokespeople stated
unequivocally that the yellow-cake found which existed from before 1991 was not the 'weapons'
they were going after.

Colin Powell himself said that his materials were wrong and in some cases deliberately misleading.

Your defense of the worst actions of literally the worst President in all of American history is just
delusional.

If it was under lock and key, then why were villagers "...toting away yellowcake storage barrels for use as drinking water cisterns" after Saddam's fall?

The fact is 550 tons of it were there when we invaded, the intent was to use it one day in the development of WMDs, and it's existence was so volatile, even the President couldn't say anything about it for fear of it falling into the wrong hands. Your refusal to face reality (a typical problem of left-wing extremists) reminds me of all those angry gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trannies in California that refuse to accept the fact that America is not ready for gay "marriage," and continue filing nuisance lawsuits following passage of Prop 8.

Well, that's one way of looking at it (although I can't agree with any of it).

You can disagree with it all you want. You're essentially disagreeing with what actually happened,
however. These are facts that are verifiable.

Bush said there were weapons of mass destruction. There weren't.
Bush said that Iraq was a proponent of terrorism. It wasn't.
Bush said that we were in imminent danger. We weren't.

Powell admitted that he was wrong during most of his presentation in defense of the war, and at
times he was deliberately misleading (his words). You can disagree with him, but he was the one
presenting the materials.

Meanwhile, Al Qaeda membership is up and Iraq is in civil war.

But you can stick your head in the sand and disagree all you want.

Are you a complete idiot (no need to answer that)?

Yes, AFTER the US invaded Iraq, security at this site was a problem (remember the UN inspectors left before the invasion). No, yellowcake that had been locked up in a site for 12 years wasn't going to be used in non-existent WMDs. And again, the existence of this material was common knowledge except to moronic right wingers like yourself.

As to the rest, your ignorance of the system that the Framers put into place to protect minority rights is appalling.
