There are ways to stop women from being pimped out and on crack without making prostitution illegal.

So long as it's illegal there will always be illegal prostitution and all the bad crap that goes along with it.
There is a grey area though. An inmate receives a raunchy photo of his wife. Isn't that porn?
You could argue that considering it isn't "paid for" then it isn't, but what if it is a photo of a friend? Does it require the inmate to have to pay for it in some way before it becomes porn?
I was about to look up the strict definitions, but don't feel comfortable with googling porn at work. 🙂
