@wajoma saidWhy were they "trespassing" in that particular building on that particular day?
Yes, there were a bunch of trespassers, no argument there, at most $500 fine and pick up trash by the road for a couple of weeks.
So the plan (which has never been seen) was to delay the transfer of power in case/if Trump might take advantage of the situation? Maybe he'd catch a hint, or some brain waves floating through the air.
It is you grasping at straws No1.
The jury had an answer even if you do not.
@no1marauder saidWe can only argue what is right or wrong, not much point arguing that the jury went this way or that. It's an imperfect system and it's not hard to gather 12 people with extreme views, or wrong views, or immoral views, because 12 people decide something doesn't mean that another 12 people will decide something else.

So you believe the jury had more info than us, and what they say is the final word. I don't know why you're wasting our time then if all it comes down to is 'the jury said X'.
Not sure there's anyone arguing what the jury's verdict was.
We can argue if it's just and right, but I can see how you'd like to avoid that.
We're armchairing it, same as almost every thread here.

@wajoma saidI asked you a specific question which you have avoided but the jury could not.

Why someone trespasses effects the morality of the trespass. A homeless man slipping into a warehouse on a below zero night is "trespassing" as is a hit man entering a private home to murder an entire family. But we do not consider both acts of "trespass" as merely deserving a fine and some community service.
@no1marauder saidWhat was the question? I think I've already stated a number of times what a reasonable punishment might be. A fine and picking up trash. Biggs has spent a large part of his time isolated, a form of torture, because he might mastermind a revolution from jail, it's vindictive and malicious, and it's utterly out of all proportion.

@athousandyoung saidCongratulations.
I didn't say anything about libertarians, Objectivists, anarchists or right wingers in that post.

@no1marauder saidProtest.
Why were they trespassing in that particular building on that particular day?
Edit: I'll save some time here. Not to overthrow the most powerful goobermint in the world by kidnapping pollies and forcing them to do something 99.9% of them would know nothing about, and the .1% wouldn't know the consequences of.

@wajoma saidYour edit keeps pretending that the "most powerful government in the world" wasn't run at that time by an immoral man who would directly benefit if the Electoral College certification was compromised and who was, in fact, scheming ways it could be done.

@no1marauder saidI can't possibly think there was some kind of agenda involving the kidnap of specific pollies with the specific intention of forcing them to do some specific thing that would certainly be thrown out the minute they went home, and this would be done with the hope Trump would catch some brainwaves floating in the air and could be counted on to do what they weren't thinking of and no one said.
You can't possibly be that gullible.
I can't possibly think that.
It was a mob that got out of control aided by the Capitol police escalating the situation with lethal force.
@no1marauder saidSo we're back to 'Trump was in command of the protest'? Or that there was some kind of sub-conscious communication and hinting?

@no1marauder saidMy turn.
Or maybe Trump told them to "stop the steal" or "they wouldn't have a country anymore" minutes before the rioters attacked the Capitol?
With the aim of what? Do you think any of them had any idea of what would be required to do what you say was required, the convoluted - go to this office find this person sit them in front of this document, get them to write these particular words etc etc.
Edit: BTW you said there was some master plan or 'a plan' now you're saying it was all triggered by Trump saying the majic code words 'stop the steal' minutes before the 'attack'?
Here's another question for you that you can chose to answer dishonestly if you decide to:
When Donald Trump saw rioters attacking police and then breaching the Capitol on January 6th, 2021 his reaction as "head of the most powerful government in the world was":
A) Promptly insisting they leave and ordering law enforcement reinforcements to immediately expel them or:
B) Doing nothing and telling advisors who urged him to do A that "these people care more about the election than you do"?
@wajoma saidYes, I think they knew how the Electoral College certification worked even if you don't.

Why do you think they were yelling "Where's Mike Pence"? "Where's Nancy Pelosi?" Why did some rioters bring zip ties with them?
