@averagejoe1 saidYour straight and narrow world view is under attack, huh ?
But to the issue, you go off on their separate cultural environments, which I certainly agree with, in that there are many different cultures.
But are you now going to write about their different attire and the foods they eat? That has nothing to do with the simple question.
Feeling a bit uneasy ?

@dood111 saidDood ,, your best on-point post ever, but alas, the libs do not get this. TO start with, they do not get nuance, they do not get humor!! They just don't. Forum would be so much better if the simply 'get it'.
What's next, some African Witch Doctor in a loincloth shaking chicken bones on the table for our weather report?
Asking for a friend.
The best part, though using humor as a vehicle, is that you are literally correct. The libs here wold accept a chimpanzee (is that racist??..., I am being called one lately) doing the news. Different culture is a reason given, just a few clicks above. ASbsollutl;ey unbelievable . Why are they so light-headed, with total different views on life than conservatives have?
@mghrn55 said79 million people would disagree with you. But I am going with you, I am hooking up to your wagon, by god. I think you are on to something.
America had an Orange Sphincter in the White House for 4 years.
Not much should be considered unusual these days. 😛
@averagejoe1 saidYou don’t seem to understand that, from a european perspective, watching fox news (or even more extreme right-wing media) is like watching clowns attempting a Monty Python nasty.
I find a lot of disingenuous answers on forum, and these have been no diff. Do you not find it odd that not one of the liberals will just come forward and say the truth about the comfort level with someone who looks like a circus performer rather than a natural person who is of their own skin, confident unto themselves.
Oh well, that’s my takeaway.
So, a Maori with tattoos on her face would seem a step towards normal.
I’m sure plenty of Americans will feel the same way too. Not everyone is as bigotted as you.

@athousandyoung saidwell, now ya see, athousandyoung, this is the type of multiculturism we need in this world!
Black African "witchdoctor" (Bokor) allied with German vs Chinese/Khoi alliance!

people can learn and prosper by this, broaden our horizons. that's what I'm saying

@earl-of-trumps saidYes she is a good example of what we, and our children , need to aspire to. But I do think the govt should mandate each tattoo for each person.

Gotta keep up with those churning progressive societies in Europe.

@dood111 saidWell that would depend, if they were reading the weather for an audience that believe in shamanism why not? Do you think non shamanistic weather reporting has been particularly accurate recently?

I see that your pal AJ has just drawn a parallel between the Māori newscaster and a chimpanzee, perhaps you could explain to your halfwitted cohort what a racist is.
@dood111 saidOriini Kaipara was apparently well-known before getting the tattoo and only recently did so to reflect her heritage. Here she is, featured in the Guardian before the tat, talking about her Maori roots:
Anyone else think she was made the news anchor as part of a politically correct affirmative action PR move?
What are her qualifications I wonder?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/13/a-dna-test-showed-im-100-maori-many-thought-there-were-none-of-us-left
I'm not sure what her news qualifications are, but she was notable enough to have her own featured Guardian article even before she got the tribal markings.
Ms. Kaipara being an anchor probably has more to do with notoriety she already had than politics.
@vivify saidOMG she was beautiful before the tattoo, really screwed her face up.

So it was probably less politics and more due to notoriety she already had.
@kevcvs57 saidWell,, I should have said a duck or a turtle so as not to offend the prickly liberals. Or a turkey. Geez.

You know, we had a debate a while back about he Nicaraguas who are trying to bring 'there' here. That is, mix up the cultures. Seems you are of that bent, to make Maori part of our society.
Since I dont like that idea, you think that makes me a racist. No, that makes me a culturist, since you are bent on thinking what I am . Why do y'all to tthat?

@averagejoe1 saidWhat nonsense are you spewing forth now Joe? She was a Māori newscaster operating in New Zealand, you know where the Māori live🙄

As for Nicaraguan’s bringing their culture with them that’s actually one of the advantages for the host society. Do you eat Italian or Chinese food Joe, who do ya thunk brought those cuisine’s to your neighbourhood?
BTW How are the ethics lectures going Joe? 😂😂
@kevcvs57 saidOK, mix up the cultures, pros and cons. End game is that everyone will be the same. Boring. There will be no Chinese food per se, just food.

As to her being a New Zealander, you got me, I had never heard of Maori. So she Is a NZealander, and lives in a specific NZealand culture, like we have Menanites and Quakers.
I still say, I hope that she doesn't bring tattoo culture to my country, I don't want a tattoo person teaching my children while the children are being exposed to an insecure person.
Mananites or Quaker newscasters may have certain such identifications, the one that comes to mind is little white caps. So they would be welcome, by me, to read the news. But difficult to identify with, as they are of a diff culture.
Would you watch/trust a newsperson who has all kind of rings in her cheeks or whatever? No, you would rather see serious dead-level people. "Russian Invades!!" Who do you want to deliver that news to you?? I think y'all are trolling me!!!!
@earl-of-trumps saidDo YOU have an undead protector?! Maybe these people know something we don’t...
