So if every teacher is armed AND trained it would eliminate schools as a target.
--------------------------------------------
I'd be betting that the teacher's gun would be taken from him by some thug student and emptied out. 🤔
@athousandyoung saidI said illegal guns!
Criminalize the guns and the civilian gun owners become criminals.
Are you paying attention?
I'll make it easier for you.
Mary buys a gun and she has a gun license and the gun is registered. That is a legal gun.
Little Ray Ray gets a gun from Pimp Ricky because dem streets is tough. That is an illegal gun.
99 percent of criminals who have guns are not licensed and registered. Give them life sentences. I swear you were drinking tonight or something 🤷

@earl-of-trumps saidI'm not entirely sure but I heard about guns that only work with the owners fingerprints?

Maybe that was a movie.
We have the technology to make it so 😉

@jimm619 saidPeople are doing life sentences right now for drug possession so why can't the law do the same for illegal guns?
That's silly......
That is unconstitutional and besides
there wouldn't be enough prisons....
Nobody is going to give up their guns until they are confident that criminals don't have them.
So yall just talking in circles just like everytime when a shooting happens. 🙄

A teacher has to take certain courses to be a teacher.
So make combat/shooter scenarios a course.
---------------------------
You have to understand that a lot of teachers friggin' *hate* guns, and making training of gun handling
part of teaching is going to turn a lot of potential teachers away. The only realistic shot is "volunteers" only.

@earl-of-trumps saidSure...you would only need 1/3 of staff to be armed.

Not everyone would have to do it.
Also, I'm thinking a lot of teachers are thinking about defending themselves more than their scruples about guns.

@shavixmir saidIt didn't take until this juncture for me to figure that out. America is one flupped up country.
You do realise that having to arm teachers is a sign that your society is broken, don’t you?
@capacrapa saidvery interesting option.
Smart guns.
They only work with your fingerprint.

@earl-of-trumps saidApparently they will be in the USA soon.
very interesting option.
I'm sure a criminal could disable it and the gun would still fire. I dunno.
At least a teacher wouldn't have to worry about a kid taking it and using it right then though.

@capacrapa saidYes. Otherwise how do you define "criminal"? Are you using racist code words again?
No.
@capacrapa saidA gun like that would need batteries and would probably use some sort of electronic "hammer".

@athousandyoung saidyup. And if you forget to change the batteries... oh, well. 😲
