This is quite extraordinary. Michael Moore basically uses his money to save the life of his adversary's wife. Naturally his adversary takes the money (12 grand) and insults him for it.

What gives with people?

moore is probably floating in cash. if he wanted to do something for the guy, he could of done it anonymously. and the recipient is right, it looks like moore is doing it for publicity for his new movie.

The piece said he did it anonymously. They also said neither him nor his reps said anything about it but that 'they heard it on their own'.

1-0 to Michael Moore. It is political point-scoring, of course, but it's clever political point-scoring.

if you're going to do something anonymously, do it anonymously.

looks like he did it anonymously, and not-so-anonymously told his friends he did it. or "someone" told them.

He did it anonymously and you were claiming he didn't. That was my point.

And why shouldn't he tell his friends?

It was a blatant PR trick, hopefully it backfires when people see it for what it is.

Cynical or not, it was worth it just for the hilarity of seeing the red faces at moorewatch.

Why do you hope it backfires? Is there something wrong with PR?

Now, now Wajoma, where's your faith in the market?

I hope it backfires because it is a stupid stunt.

There may be a small market of those that believe this was clever.

There would be an even smaller market of those that believe Moore was genuinely trying to help someone else, other than his own fat as .

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the site's response to Sicko: he's going to have to defend a system that led to his wife's life having to depend on the charity of a sworn enemy.

No. it wasn't a stupid stunt. You just don't like Moore. Stunt or not, it worked. You seem to be ignoring that. Blinded by your own hate I assume.

12 grand is 12 grand. And if you needed it to help a sick loved one you'd be all over it like a pig on a slop trough. So spare us your indignation. It's blinding you to the facts.

Moore may be a self righteous, egotistical @ss, but he coughed up 12 grand. Chump change to him, but a fortune to a person in need.

I like that Michael Moore is willing to stand up for what he believes in, very vocally.

I agree with most (not all) of Michael Moore's political positions.

I disagree with Michael Moore's approach, which relies more on deception, rhetoric, than fact or logic.

I disagree with Michael Moore's negativity. Moore is a problem creator, not a problem solver. He doesn't offer solutions, he offers anger, confusion, and disrespect.

I won't be watching "Sicko". Shrek 3 looks like much better entertainment for my 10 bucks. And that's, at best, all Moore offers: entertainment.
