Corporations are a government creation, but right wingers now insist they have all the Natural Rights of actual human beings.[/b]
🙄
It's not hard to understand how SCOTUS will rule. It will continue to rule in favor of both a centralized federal government and the government created mini-government corporations that give them the money to hold power.

Allow states to run their own affairs.
Why should we force conservative states to adopt socialism and socialist states adopt conservatism? Why force either to accept a particular ideology with such religious fervor? Why not let them succeed/fail based upon their own merits?

You could add Hobby Lobby to the cases where right wingers were jubilant that the SCOTUS gave Natural Rights to artificial entities.
In both those case, the SCOTUS ruled against the Federal government and in favor of corporations.
EDIT: A majority of the United States Senate has voted to advance a constitutional amendment to restore the ability of Congress and the states to establish campaign fundraising and spending rules with an eye toward preventing billionaires and corporations from buying election.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fifty-four senators, all Democrats and independents who caucus with the Democrats, voted Thursday for the amendment to clarify in the Constitution that Congress and the states have the authority to do what they did for a century before activist judges began intervening on behalf of wealthy donors and corporations: enact meaningful campaign finance rules and regulations.
But forty-two senators, all Republicans, voted no. As a result, Udall noted, the Republican minority was able to “filibuster this measure and instead choose to support a broken system that prioritizes corporations and billionaires over regular voters.”

It's amusing that you want even more power given to the States and then complain about the 80,000 laws and regulations when the vast majority are passed by State and local governments and agencies.
Many of your positions contradict each other in this manner.

What have they done for state rights? Nothing, that's what.
That's why the GOP is in love with Trump. He will just come in and kick some heads around and "get things done". American elections have come down to voting for the most benevolent dictator.
Originally posted by KazetNagorraThe bottom line is that power needs to be decentralized. At least returning power back to the states would be a good beginning.
You wouldn't object? But this whole time you have been saying that federal power should be devolved to the states, not that state or federal power should be devolved to counties.

Reform? Does a drunk need reform? A drunk needs an intervention. They are drunk on money and power and they are incapable of helping themselves.
Any power that is unrestricted and without checks and balances goes awry. To think that men in government are angels and those in the private sector are not, is laughable.
