@vivify saidI have not watched one second of the hearings. I did google up and peruse the transcript of the call with Georgia officials as prompted by your post. My knowledge of Trump's speech is from watching it myself in real time. "Trial by combat" was arguably figurative, but according to you to was uttered by Giuliani, not Trump so I don't know why you're bringing it up.
No, testimony from the officials themselves was that Trump pressured them.
And Trump *did* call the witness; but she rejected his call and turned Trump over to her lawyer. That would be attempted witness tampering, a crime.
"Let's have trial by combat" is not a "peaceful" call to protest.
You admit that you haven't been following the hearing yet feel supremely confident in stating falsehoods.
But I asked, you answered, and here we are. The attempted call to a witness is your strongest point, but it's all very weak in my opinion.
@sleepyguy saidDoes Trump himself have to say it? Does a mob boss have to be the one personally demanding protection money? Is only the hitman guilty of a crime?

Giuliani worked tirelessly for Trump spreading election lies and being Trump's obedient servant. Trump organized the rally as well as who the speakers would be. Trump is responsible for riling that crowd up and likely instructed Giuliani to do so. Trump already has a history of inciting violence at his rallies, with comments like "knock the crap out them" referring to anti-Trump protestors." Surprise, surprise, protesters were attacked at his rallies.
Trump's history of inciting mob violence is already established.
Trump tried to pressure state officials in Georgia and Wisconsin to overturn election. Add witness tampering, none of this "weak"; they're federal crimes worthy of prison.
@vivify saidLooks like Jonathan Turley disagrees.

@Sleepyguy
The most damning evidence was the outtakes of the video Trump did when it was clear the game was over, that plus ALL of his Fox news buddies were calling for him to stop the riot and he did nothing but sit in front of his flat screen eating hamburgers and French fries.
The ones with the most damning testimony were hard core Trumpites until the riots started and Trump clearly WANTED it to go on, he could have called it off but let 3 hours go by doing absolutely nothing.
If that is your idea of a true leader and lover of the constitution then vote him in again.
@sonhouse saidSo Trump is a criminal because 3 hours went by wherein he did not do what you and others think he should have done.

I gather you are just another zombie more interested in installing Trump as dictator than actually supporting the idea of a democracy going forth after the Trump era is done.
Tell me seriously, why were ALL the fox news talking heads calling for Trump to call it off, why were his own CHILDREN trying to get him to call it off?
Instead, he is in front of his flat screen munching popcorn while people were FUKKING DYING YOU JERK with HUNDREDS injured.
@sonhouse saidNothing you said here is relevant to the question of what specific actions Trump took that were criminal.

@Sleepyguy
If you can't see that, you are a dyed in the wool Trumpite. Putting a hit out on Pence means nothing to you, HANG MIKE PENCE did not just appear out of nowhere.
Letting people DIE in the riot when he could have stopped it dead cold on minute one would have shown him to be a true leader, instead he failed to protect his own citizens which is one of the jobs of POTUS, he failed badly at defending the constitution which is part of his oath of office, but none of that matters to a zombie like you.
@sleepyguy saidOh NO....WRONG AGAIN...

You must really be sleepy...
They're called THE RICO STATUTES

@sonhouse saidFrom where did it appear? Did Trump actually say let's hang Mike Pence? Or was that someone else?

who died in what riot?
@sleepyguy saidThis isn't a criminal trial, it's a hearing. The committee is laying out potential criminal acts, not a court case. The article judges the hearing like it's a criminal trial, which it is not. Trump can't get convicted here, only exposed as someone whose acts violated laws.
Looks like Jonathan Turley disagrees.

The committee plans to make criminal referrals, which will then launch a formal criminal investigation. This is no different from Trump's impeachment; that was not about finding him criminally guilty or innocent that was about whether he should be removed from office.
@sonhouse saidWell who the hell was it? You're blathering that Trump "put a hit out" on Pence with zilch to back it up. It's ridiculous.
@Sleepyguy
Yeah, it must have been Ivanka.....
