Are you out of your mind, No1???? Jeezus, do you really need links to see the food lines to people with no means have grown huge in size.

25.4 million Americans have been unemployed since CV arrived. And that is just the people that sign up for benefits. It does not include people that work under the table or people that can't get thru to process a form at unemploy ...[text shortened]... h and dry, eh? Guaranteed income and a nice vacation.

I am quite stunned you posed the question.
Marauder was joking with me about blowing his stimulus check he did not really need.

I think he is just a part of the out of touch elites that have no problem not working for years on end cuz of all the wealth they have as they preach to the rest of us about the need not to work.

I see, so just because Sweden does something, like nationalize health care, it's not always going to work everywhere else?

Interesting.
Sweden is relying on the common sense of its populace, how can that work in country where Donald Trump, a man who thinks injecting disinfectant might sort the problem in a minute, gets elected to the Whitehouse.
I’m sorry mate but Sweden you ain’t, now get back indoors and stop barking at the cars.

If only there was a way to make sure people don't immediately get into financial trouble if they lose their job... what a shame the "out-of-touch elites" are preventing this while the people you vote for fight tooth and nail to make it happen.

What a shame ignorant plebes don't understand that no amount of safety nets, waving magic wands and using funny money makes up for loss of production.

What shame that ignorant plebes don't understand that the safety nets come tumbling down when overstressed and in times of government budgets being reduced, due to lack of production to tax upon and due to foreclosures.

Interesting theory... I wonder how it faces up to the reality where the places with the most generous social safety nets all have high productivity and healthy public finances.

Not so well, it turns out.

Wait until a tsunami hits them - such as, unemployment so high that the unemployment fund gets quickly depleted and the feds are taking in less revenue due to a major drop in income tax.

Then you'll see how impregnable those safety nets really are. "Fail safe" is an illusion.

PS: Unemployment figures are at 30 million, based only on forms processed.

Wow, that would be a really pressing concern if those safety nets haven't already been around for almost a century... which they have. Oh well.

PS: unemployment figures here are projected to hit 8.6% by the end of the year as the administration isn't stacked with morons running around like headless chickens and the response to Covid-19 has for the most part been reasonable. If only there was something you could have done to reduce the number of rampantly corrupt shysters and/or drooling retards in government...

What if... someone highly educated and well-informed is a better judge of that than someone who is clueless and uneducated?
