The closest composer seems to be Bartók. Nice.

Now, I've had some ideas about the form this country might take, as follows:

In America (for example) the people vote only once every four years, or every two years if you count mid-term elections. You call that a democracy? That's a pitiful amount of citizen involvement. I call on the citizens to be able to directly vote on a wide variety of issues, thr ...[text shortened]... country, with free movement between the two based upon their graph score.

Any comments?
Wouldn't you just get right wingers becoming Ultra left wing, simply to get power?

Wouldn't having any sort of power at all shift you towards the right wing per se?

They could assume power by falsely posing as a left winger, but in order to remain in power they'd have to continue to be a left winger. Any shift to the right would adjust their graph in that direction and make them ineligible for continued leadership.

Having someone in power would be anathema to an anarchist system, but not necessarily all left wing systems.

Okay, at -13 I'm in. Bet you never thought you'd hear Lenin subscribe to communist ideas, huh?!

Lenin? Bah! Talk about someone who changed their stripes after assuming power. First it's 'all power to the Soviets' and then it's all about the 'vanguard party.' Boooooooo!

Well, okay. I'll take that on the chin, but come on - I've changed. If death doesn't change someone, what does?

OK, it's very 'buggy' but I've knocked up a new political compass
graph.
This one should let you enter your own scores.
You can either drag the smiley to the spot or enter the values
in the boxes.

http://www.odbo.co.uk/molpoll.html

Things to be aware of.
1) After you click submit your entry has been submitted even though
your name doesn't appear above the smiley. You may have to close
and restart your browser to see the entry.

2) If you make a mistake you should be able to delete entries using
the window at www.odbo.co.uk

I will try and sort the glitches out so please try not to break it.

Why did it change my scores? Correction for the average? And I take it I am the 2nd person to put my score there.

Sorry, I think there's another bug with inputting the numbers :-(
I will sort it out this evening.

Meanwhile it's best to just drag the smiley to the values.

AThousandYoung, I've remove that point for you if you want to
try it again.

That seems to happen every time you move your mouse. I finally got my scores entered correctly by using keys only.

On an example chart, Yassir Arafat, Ariel Sharon, GW Bush, Pole John Paul II, Tony Blair and Jacques Chirac have all been placed well within the positive range of the social axis.

I can't seem to get mine in position. When I click submit it moves my happy face back to the center. Even using only keys didn't seem to help. I guess I'll wait for you to fix it. You can erase my smilies if you want; one is positioned correctly but lacks my name (-1.4, -4.6 approximately) and the other is still being dragged around freely. I don't know if you can even see it - that is, if it's been submitted or not.

EDIT - Never mind. I just had to refresh the browser. I hope the smily that I can move around appears for everyone and isn't "officially" on there.
