Shows how disconnected they are from reality.

“There’s no way in the world that many of these recommendations are going to get through because of the inflationary impact,” said Roy L. Brooks, a professor and reparations scholar at the University of San Diego School of Law.
From your article.
And nowhere in the article doesnit mention 200 million apiece in reperations.
It’s a proposal from a taskforce.
What they’re suggesting is that there has to be an apology, and that an apology isn’t enough; reperations would be their recommendation.
The article quotes various racist laws which the state upheld, and that this has had real consequences for various goal groups.
And I agree with the afore quoted professor on the realism of the task forces submission. More than likely, any form of feasible reperations will be community, and not individuallu, based. Because each case would be impossible to untangle and measure coherently.
Think along the lines of outreach programmes, extra education and scholarships.
My God, such a storm in a teacup.

....which begs the question, just what exactly do you suggest the apology would be for?
@earl-of-trumps saidWe must all stipulate that the liberals, by and large, want all ‘the money’ to be spent, our debt to increase, the rich to be poor, you get my drift…….they want the USA to bankrupt. Squalor is enjoyed by some so they would bask in the bankruptcy.
Good luck to them. And good luck to the taxpayers trying to pay off the loan, if they can borrow that much!
The only thing that ticks me off is... when the state goes into failure, guess who will have to bail them out,,,
yup, y'all.
@averagejoe1 saidWhy won’t libs answer these questions?

@AverageJoe1
“NEWSOM WAFFLES ON REPARATIONS “. When will libs realize the their free-stuff promises never come to fruition? Aren’t you libs glad there is not early voting? And You can’t vote for Biden, I assume you watch the news.
I am going to ask Sonhouse to follow the Biden saga, since he pretty much deep-sixed Trump on his own.
@AverageJoe1
And he should be scared. $800 Billion is a lot of money to take on as debt.
And that is with the more prudent figure of $1.2 million MAXIMUM payout (71 y/o man lifelong resident)
If the liberals got their way, the $200 million per person package would have cost about $169 Trillion.
Something tells me that even Magic Kingdom wouldn't try to tackle that 😵
@earl-of-trumps saidWhat have American-africans in California got to do with slavery?

@averagejoe1 saidSlavery existed in California until the 1850’s.

Learn some fukking proper history, man.
As for whom to whom… God only knows. I don’t go in for that kind of moronity, and since it’s happening in a banana republic of a third world country, I don’t give a damn either.
@averagejoe1 saidI simply asked this question, I have not studied slavery to that extent. You are always asking me to send links, , you should be sending me one.
What have American-africans in California got to do with slavery?
WhT are you upset about, deriding my knowledge? Well, I will look it up, because I would be surprised if there were slaves in California. Of course, the Chinese , and others in unusual circumstances, but I’m talking about the basic slave trade that went on in Georgia.
So no answer for ole Joe,? Just derision? Maybe you got thrown off by a question. Which is all I did, a question.. Have you noticed that liberals very seldom ask questions, just preach, ask them all the time.
@averagejoe1 saidI'm sorry, but which party is defunding the IRS nowadays?* You need to start each day with a declaration of which parallel universe you're inhabiting at the moment.
…….they want the USA to bankrupt.
The idea of giving individuals reparations will never get anywhere. It's political theater, but politically infeasible to implement.
* Answer, because I know you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer: The GOP.

we started out in a "200 million apiece in reparations" thread, and you so smoothly and easily converted it
to a "GOP bad" thread. Clever, very nice deflection. What happened to "Orange bad"? Throw that in too!
Now, any guess who wants $200 million per person in reparations...? Come on, you can do it.
