It is worth remembering that the Snopes family can be found in the fiction of William Faulkner, where they are the stereotypical ignorant poor whites. Not that this history has any bearing on the present issue, but it's always struck me as an interesting name for a website devoted to debunking myths.

No, the issue is that your flag has become the golden calf of the old testament, almost.

Every Kiwi I know loves our country very much but I can't think of one that has a need to salute our flag to show that love.

Your concern about the stooges is about as far out there as people's concern the UN wants to take over the world.

So far, the only real concern your government has shown (in your country) is to those who least need it.
