The authors of the letter are of the opinion that Germany should stop sending weapons to Ukraine. They also suggest that Germany should pressure on Ukraine to stop the war and accept Russian conditions:
- Ukraine will not join NATO and remains neutral.
- Ukraine acknowledges the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk republics.
- Ukraine acknowledges Crimea as a part of Russia.
The authors argue that Russia is much bigger and stronger than Ukraine and Russia would win the war anyway. Sending weapons to Ukraine and continuing the battles only leads to greater and greater losses of human lives and civilian infrastructure.
The authors also suggest that Ukraine should withdraw its army from big cities to avoid civilian casualties.
The corresponding article was published also in Ukrainian newspaper Inforesist:

ceased his aggression
lives would be spared........so sad...
So dangerous with nuclear weapons
in the picture.
@mghrn55 saidYou have to think about how many human lives you are willing to pay for territorial integrity, particularly, if you cannot achieve your aims.
@EintaluJ
Wow !! What a simple solution !!
Why didn't I think of that one ?
Give up your country and you will have peace !!
btw, you forgot to mention that Sweden and Finland should drop their applications to join NATO as part of the Ukrainian peace deal.
I do not understand your remarks concerning Finland and Sweden. It has not been mentioned in the article shared and, obviously, the status of these countries cannot be negotiated between Russia and Ukraine.
Moreover, I am NOT the author of that open letter. Then why do you address me?
@jimm619 saidIt is nonprobable that the stronger side of the conflict would give up.

I am afraid that the nuclear weapons of Russia are beside the point, hardly Russia would use nuclear weapons against Ukraine as Ukraine does not have such weapons.

@eintaluj saidHahaha er no the best way to avoid civilian casualties is for Russia to withdraw back to its pre 2022 invasion position and start the negotiations again which would include repetitions to be paid to Ukraine for rebuilding purposes.

The sole purpose of this is to give Putin some propaganda and at best he can split the EU consensus on sanctions going forward.
It’ll be the US that decides Putin and Ukraines fate.

@mghrn55 saidOK.
I was responding to the Russian conditions in the opening post.
Nothing against the poster.
My apologies for not specifying that.
Actually, I am far from being a military expert. I do not know whether Russia is able to win the war. My personal opinion is that Russia will win that war anyway, but it is an uninformed opinion. If the premise that Russia will win anyway is true, then I would rather agree that Kyiv should think less about its territory lost in 2014 and more about saving human lives.
@eintaluj saidGive Ukraine better air defence systems so they can at least set up safe havens in the major cities like Kyiv and Liviv
And what is the best way to avoid civilian casualties if Russia will not withdraw back?
Zelensky made just that offer about a month ago but Russia cannot just hold what they have and give nothing of their recent gains back they should regroup in the Donbas position pre invasion but there is an argument for them keeping the land bridge to Crimea. Unfortunately it’s not for me or you to tell Ukraine how much of their sovereign land they should give up.
