I never needed to show an ID in my life to vote, so I'm fine with answering "yes".
Thankyou . A very clear answer, that you vote that it is OK for a person to vote at a precinct without showing the officials who they are. Thankyou. It takes courage among this lot. I think you and Shav are the only ones who have voted yes to No ID. No one else has voted either way. It is good to get these things on the table for future matters.....to gird our loins, if you will.

No. I'm proving that Republicans are sore losers who realize their only real chance of regaining power is preventing the People from expressing their preferences in free elections.
May I say, the way for DEMS (y'all always leave this out) to hold power, for 100 years, is to garner every of-color vote within 200 miles of our border. I am hearing that the HO1 Bill (owned by Dems) has a provision that once any illegal, or anyone in a the universe from Iran or Yemen or wherever, is listed on any welfare roll in this country, they are AUTOMATICALL ENROLLED as a registered voter in this country. I assure you will wet your beds tonite. Unbelievable. A Yeminite (Sorry Duchess, never know what to call all these people) could be deciding your president in 2028. think that's funny??

Say what you want; I go in , give my name at the desk and sign my name in a book of registered voters in my precinct.

That's all before I fill out my ballot and enter it in the machine.
I don't believe it stops at 'say your name', I was just being nice for purposes of discussion.

Yes, Democrats want every eligible voter to be registered and have a chance to exercise their right to vote.

You're against that ..................... why?
Easy. People (terrorists, et al) from Iran, Yemen, Iraq, all of them, are being bought in by our puppet. They will be voters in a few months.
Against that? Yes, because these people are the POOL, the SOURCES that the liberal people in this country are lining up to become democrats, so that Dems will own it from here on. Old Average Joe, who tried to get you rich on Roku and other predictions, is here to all you my latest prediction.....The talking heads are saying the Repubs will get the house back in 2022. I say not. You have wn the 100 year war. I'm ready, are you?

It doesn't and I didn't say it did.

You sign your name in a voter registration book each election. That signature can be compared to your previous ones in the same book.

That's been the procedure in my State since at least I first voted in 1976.

So you're demonstrating that you understand my point but would rather avoid it by engaging in semantics. You understand my point about the dishonest way you frame your question to pretend you don't know why voter ID laws are considered a bad idea.

Fine by me.
Jesus , are you for real? Is everyone reading this? Vivify, in posing a question to me, (about abortion) simply could have said "do you think it is OK for a woman to decide to have an abortion?" Like, I had just said an apples-to-apples question... Do you think it is OK for a person to vote without showing ID". Fair comparative questions, dont you think?
But he BEGINS his question (I had not such a qualifying, beginning phrase) by saying 'if we were discussing abortion, and I said 'do you think a woman should be in control of her body..."
Does everyone get this....and he mentions semantics !?!????? Vivify, I will avoid getting personal, but you are trolling, or you are in high school? What is the deal?

I say you sound like a nut.

Any US citizen should be automatically registered to vote and there shouldn't be a bunch of impediments to do so.

I think that 'Fine By Me' can be interpreted as "AvJoe, you got me'

But, I do give you more credit for debating...I used to grade the stuff, you may have promise, but it doesn't show up in this thread. You get an F.
And check out the thread of Vivify called "Average JOe' . Vivify is a glutton for punishment.

Republicans have equal access to mail-in ballots; not all minorities have equal access to IDs, which is why Republicans want to cheat and require them. They know minorities tend to vote against them
It is almost 20 months till voting time....Plenty of time for getting an ID. Am I missing some liberal-hype here? And yeah, as a true conservative, if someone does not have a piece of paper showing who the heck they are.........do they need to be voting? Just a question ........................... I know I dont want them voting. Does that kick me off the forum?

Compared by my daughter, who volunteers as a precinct watcher? She is a Dr for god sakes, there is NO WAY That she could compare signatures and verify that they are the same signature.. What a laugh.,, this is laughable marauder

You're deliberately acting stupid.

But here's a direct answer to the question: the answer is yes. Yes, it's okay to vote without ID. It's been okay to do so for decades.
