Lemon-Lime fails to comprehend how Duchess64 is able to ignore how the viruses launching point for becoming a worldwide pandemic was in China. Duchess64 has failed to explain why the virulent virus did not begin spreading to the far corners of the earth from Italy, but rather made its way to Wuhan before starting on its worldwide tour.
And yes, Chinese doctors and government officials were very smart. China was smart enough to restrict travel to and from other parts of China but not restrict international flights in and out of the affected area.

As you will duly note, I don’t care about where it originated from, other than for finding a constructive solution on how to stop these things from happenning again.

If it’s wet markets: what in them, solve it.
If it’s the Trevi fountain, why, solve it.

What I am pointing out to you is that the whole argument that everyone (all major news sites, WHO, etc.) has used to prove that the virus was not created in a lab, “proves” the natural mutation from bat to second species to human, originating in the Wuhan region.

And so, when people (you) suggest it originated in Italy, how does this not undermine the argument that it wasn’t created in a lab.

The sub-point I make is that this site (you) are the only person I know pushing this narrative. Now, it’s quite possible you are correct, but you do have an unhealthy fixation on white-washing anything (percieved or not) negative about China.

So there is that.

What I should add, to be complete, is that if Covid was discovered in December, it probably originated many months earlier.

So, the spread would have started (with people obviously not knowing it was a new virus) with a gradual increase of coughing, breathing difficulties and fevers symptoms being admitted to hospitals.

So, by checking June, July, August, September hospital admittances with these symptoms from 2009 to 2019, one should be able to see where the earliest increases started. I presume.
And if that’s Wuhan, it’s Wuhan. If it’s Amsterdam, it’s Amsterdam.

The disease didn’t just arrive in December and spike in a week.

Just because trump and his bandwagon of morons blame China and Chinese people, doesn’t mean the rest of us do.

And just because some people blame wet markets, doesn’t mean they blame China or Chinese people.

And if it is wet markets which are to blame, the question is what to do about them, so that culture remains as closely preserved as possible.

That's from the World Health Organization, which is an agency of the United Nations. Does Duchy-poo plan to accuse the entire UN of racism against China? Is the WHO just a bunch of idiots who don't know how to conduct proper scientific investigation? The world, including the non-western world, sides with the WHO's determination of China as the source of COVID-19.

As Shav mentioned, the only reason it's important to pin the source of the outbreak is to find answers: how did it start, how can we stop it, how can we prevent in the future. That's what's important. It has nothing to do with smearing China.
