@vivify saidButter and syrup can't be the only game here. Crepes are thin, and tough enough to hold filling, strawberries, blueberries, etc.
Waffles having pockets that hold the butter and syrup instead of just running off the plate makes it the easy winner in my book.
Plus, you can make waffles crunchy; can't really do that with pancakes.
@Suzianne saidIf we just compare waffles and pancakes, waffles win. So the real question is waffles vs. crepes.

Crepes hold the advantage since there's a lot more you can do than with waffles.
But what if you had to eat one with nothing else added? No fruit, no syrup, nothing. I think waffles would win. Then again, no one eats them by themselves so that's not a realistic way to compare them.
Fancy restaurants would be more likely to serve crepes. So I guess I have to give them the win.
@vivify saidI like pancakes more than waffles, probably because my family wasn't always able to afford a waffle iron, which is the only way, really, to make waffles. With pancakes, all you need is a griddle.

My mom made teddy bear pancakes. Body, head, and six little pieces for ears and paws.
@Great-Big-Stees saidWow. None of the above! I didn't expect that one. What about bread?
Not a fan of any of them but if ai had to pick one I’d go for waffles🧇 because I sometimes waffle politically.🤔😲
@vivify saidA logical analysis, but you may be too quick to dismiss the pancake.

@A-Unique-Nickname saidThis of course is the right answer. Thanks to everyone else for playing.
Pancakes are the winner, no contest. Sure the butter, or syrup, or lemon juice (with sugar, or any other topping might run off but then you can scoop it up with the bottom of the pancake. Light and fluffy pancakes are the winner.
@wildgrass saidMaybe…but not white bread.🤮 From me…expect the unexpected.🤔👍

@wildgrass saidNone.
Who ya got, and why?
Bacon, eggs, sausages (preferably English breakfast sausages).
All these things you mention are child snacks and make me crave wine.
And one knows that one should’t drink wine with breakfast. Well, unless it’s Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Or special Sundays. Or wedsnesdays and Mondays on alternating weeks.
This being said… if forced to choose at gunpoint, I would say a Dutch (or German) pancake with bacon in it, and a little syrup poured over it.
