Why don't you comment straight on? Why did you make me write all that? The school of Suzisheanne.

@averagejoe1 saidJust like year, a man killed 5 and wounded 17 in a gun assault on a gay nightclub in Colorado.
Note my post two clicks back, discussing culture w Sonhouse. As predicted, he cannot answer my simple point about the culture of Iran, who throw homsexuals off of roofs. He was supposed ot take me on, in agreement or disagreement.
Instead, he writes this about right wingers feelings about homosexuals. Absoluteey skewed debating, if you will. That, we attack Muslims ...[text shortened]... ple observation about something you saw today and ask him to comment on it? Could be entertaining!!
Is that part of whatever you consider American "culture"?

@no1marauder saidNo, random vicious attacks could be done by my neighbor's well-to-do seemingly normal son, who is part of the culture that I exist in, so that is not a matter of culture. Killers come from everywhere, if you want to change the subject to murdering murderers. Alex Murdaugh in NC killed wife and son, I would say he was probably in an average American cultural society.

So, your example is not what I speak of when I say cultural. You could google 'controversial' or 'strange' cultural practices. I assure you that they are not 'like you'. Not like me. Why do you make such discussions so difficult. It is like you are saying that there should be no distinction between cultures? What are you getting at?

@averagejoe1 saidSo people in Iran who kill gays are "part of the culture" but people in the US who do the exact same thing are not.

@no1marauder saidNot 'exact'ly same' Marauder. It is the law in said society for that culture to execute homosexuals. Heathens don't try to 'avoid a painful execution', they throw them off roofs.

Our cultures, all of them as far as I know, do not murder people as a matter of course for homosexual activity. You should google more often, if that is possible! You spend so much time on your high horse that you are not aware of common sense and what goes on around you.
Same-sex sexual activity is prohibited under the Penal Code 2013, which criminalises acts of ‘livat’, ‘tafkhiz’, ‘musaheqeh’, and other intimate acts. These provisions carry a maximum penalty of death. Both men and women are criminalised under this law.
Glad to share. So angry!!!

@averagejoe1 saidIt was a felony for gays to engage in same sex activity in many States until fairly recently. That was only changed by a SCOTUS ruling that right wingers like yourself screamed about.

I would say that traditionally feeling in the US was very anti-gay. True, we didn't have laws quite as drastic as Iran, but hostility to gays and affording them equal rights has been a main stay of right wing thought for a very long time. And many countries provided for recognition of gay rights well before ours.
Should Americans have been barred from immigrating to those countries because our "culture" was more hostile to gays? Should people from those countries have been barred from immigrating to the US because their "culture" was less hostile to gays?
You probably haven't even thought about the logical implications of your posts but hey give it a whirl. Personally, I don't think immigration should only be allowed from countries that are exactly like the US (that would be none) but if you think otherwise why don't you tell us why?

@no1marauder saidWho, pray tell, would bar me from going anywhere. The government? Do liberals actually think that we should cowtow to the government and get their permission? You should look up what the role of govt is. Next you will be saying that the govt can require us to pay off the loans of college students.

But yes, we should bar immigrants who have evidence of posing any risk whatsoever to enter this country. Like, barring a person at the border who has a record of criminality or killing gays. We don't seem to be doing that now. Do you find that strange, Marauder, that you and Biden are happy with allowing 5000 people a day, who cannot POSSIBLY be vetted properly in 24 hours, to freely come in here?
I would consider him a cultural risk if he has a record of beating up a policeman. O my goodness, I just saw a video of an immigrant beating up a policemen on the street in the most popular venue of America. I wish we'd had done a vet on him.
You and Joe, you dont' vet for shytte.

Should people from those countries have been barred from immigrating to the US because their "culture" was less hostile to gays?Don't get you here. You are saying that the country of Armozonia is 'less hostile' to gays, so should its citizens be allowed to come in? Yes, there are many countries with pockets that do not like homosexuality, but life ain't perfect, would be impossible to go further in such a decision. But if Armozonia has a law to kill gays, do not let any one of them in. Vile culture. But as you and Joe are doing away with checking passports, etc, how can we keep them out? How can we, Marauder? Keep them out without checking passports.??
How long you wanna keep this up?

@averagejoe1 saidWhy should individuals fleeing a country be judged on what the laws are in that country?

That doesn't make any sense.
And please stop lying and claiming I or anyone else opposes the vetting of those wishing to live in this country. It's shameful your arguments are so weak you have to resort to such lies.
@no1marauder saidIt is better to keep them all out then to allow one in, who might wreak havoc, do you not understand? Our arch enemy China has begun in two months, sending hordes of Chinese into our country. You don't care. You will not admit that the 5000/day are not being vetted. I am aware, of course, of your ulterior motive to ruin the coountry so that you can rebuild it to your liking. Can I keep all my possessions, and I have lot of them.

As to judging country flee-ers, why not judge them? Judge hell out of them. Marauder, do we owe them something, do we even owe them any consideration? ""Hey, are you from Iran, and the guy behind you is from Scotland… We can only let in so many, so you can go back to where you came from. You come from a very different culture. We have plenty of culture. I am sure, Iranian, that you have a particular acceptable reason to murder homosexuals. We don't do that so we don't want you working in an office cubicle next to my 24 year old daughter, a nice Catholic girl".
Whew. You have one hell of a closed mind.

I find your close minded bigotry disgusting and your idea that people from "white" countries get preferences over individuals from "non-white" countries disturbing. Hiding that behind some fake reliance on "culture" isn't really fooling anyone.
You're a sick person.

@averagejoe1 saidChinese immigrants are much better educated, have higher incomes and work in white collar jobs at much higher rates than the native born in the US.

And you want to ban them because their country is our "arch enemy"? That type of stupid bigotry is what I mean by your insistence on cutting off our nose to spite our face. Individuals from China or anywhere else who wish to settle in this country shouldn't be assumed to be our enemies because what the political system or policies of their countries' governments are.
