simple my dear capitalist american:
by setting a decent price for insurance middle class americans could afford, the insurance companies are getting a steady income from healthy americans with low risk of getting actually sick.
meanwhile, people who actually do need medical attention are left out.
pretty clever, huh? and completely inhumane

If so, I'd say that like every other expense I have I work and I pay for it and like every other expense if I have to pay for mine and for others to get the same government my bill would be even higher.

this is the very problem with some americans: you think that everything is about you individually.

How healthcare works for Americans depends on which propaganda you buy into.
we could simply see how much it costs to treat someone of cancer and then compare that to canada, uk, france, china, japan, etc

no need to buy into "propaganda". we can think for ourselves. well you might have a problem.

It's heartening to see there are still people in the US who know what freedom is and what it means. The guvamint has broken free market healthcare in the US with untold regulation and now they want to fix it with more?

can you freakin get that you pay taxes anyway? those money are gone, you ain't never gonna see them again. universal health care means some of that money, which you already lost, go to health care instead of a military budget for a tank that will never be used.
can you freakin understand that universal health care doesn't mean you are not allowed to go private? IF you bloody have the money.
Originally posted by ZahlanziI know your concept of freedom Z, you want to be free to make other people do things they don't want to. Originally posted by Wajomathat is all, isn't it? that is the only circumstance. the US is made up only of hard working, exercising tax payers and lazy, unemployed parasites who do not pay taxes.

there cannot possibly be hard working, tax paying citizens who get stuck paying bills because they aren't covered enough, or get sick of something that isn't in their coverage, or have to pay crippling rates because they are already sick and nobody will insure them otherwise.
you never asked for anything in your life, did you. you only wish to be left alone and not having to be your brother's keeper.
well except for the event where you get attacked, you would like some police to protect you.
except in case something of yours catches fire, you would like some fire department to put it out.
except in case of war, you would like some soldier to die for you.
except for all the government loans and subsidies many enterprises get.
i guess there are times when you are a socialist. i guess there are times where you pay for those that have the audacity to get robbed, or have their house catch fire.
i wonder if you ever took the time to see what diseases are NOT covered by your insurance. do make a list of that sometimes. and see what the prices are for procedures related to that, how much would your premiums increase if you have to upgrade your insurance to cover for something that by then is called "pre-existent" condition.
people like you don't freaking get empathy unless something bad happens to you. and then all your "free market" principles get thrown out of the window.

Ask Yes
Demand No
you don't demand the police to save you. you ask them nicely.
you don't demand the fire department to come put out your house. you ask them nicely. whenever is convenient for them.
i think we are done here. i feel my sanity is slipping away the more i discuss with your dumb ass
Originally posted by ZahlanziI don't blame you, when you look at what is behind your motives i.e. forcing people to do things they don't want to, it's all a bit too hideous to examine closely, leaves you with a sick feeling in your stomach.

FORCE it's all you know.
Originally posted by WajomaI agree, forcing people to pay for health care they need anyway and is both cheaper and provides additional benefits to society as a whole is hideous, terrible tyranny. It's much better to gleefully watch other people die (especially if they have STDs).

Funny that you bring up cancer when the waiting rates for Socialized medicine means that people in those countries suffer more complications and death from cancer than the US.
