West Jerusalem has been in Israeli hands since 1949. All the areas that are the seat of the Israeli government are on the near side of the green line. The designation of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital is not particularly greater reason for the Palestinians to be pissed off than if it were still Tel Aviv.
