That's a problem every presidential nominee has to face.

True enough, but I don't think any nominee has faced this level of fringe pressure since McGovern in 1972.

I just listened to the Eastwood performance, yes performance, not just a speech. It was absolutely powerful, well timed, humorous, well performed by an academy award winning actor and director. He absolutely was right, and right on time.

That was humor, right?

No, your statement that Eastwood was funny in anything but an unintentional way.

Clint seemed to be the crowd favorite last night, with the exception of Romney of course. Indeed, Clint seemed to get the most applause from the crowd other than for Romney.

Try to imagine for a second that you are not a right wing psychotic (who's going to vote against Obama regardless) but someone who voted for Obama in 2008 but isn't sure he's done a good enough job to win re-election. The election will be decided by those voters. Do you really think that Eastwood's whodeyish performance will be convincing to them?

"when somebody doesn't do the job, ya gotta let them go"

what more needs to be said? failure is not an option here. And you can argue until the lights go out, his presidency has been a disappointing failure, of broken promises and lost hope.

Clint Eastwood masterfully unmasked Obama, but the left missed the subtleties

The guy is getting old. I've watched a couple of his westerns a zillion times. He also directed (and produced) some thoughtful movies the last decade. The right-wingers jumped all over him for his commercial the last Super Bowl. He doesn't seem like a right-winger to me.

Well, Betty White is getting old too. Let's see if she does any better for the Democrats.
