Re-writing history and denying the truth are two characteristics of a narcissist. Get some professional help.
Are you opening up a truth about yourself here?
Just so you know, I haven't said you re-wrote history and I don't think you have.
The thing about history and considering what happened is, to quote someone more eloquent than me:
“Historians are left forever chasing shadows, painfully aware of their inability ever to reconstruct a dead world in its completeness however thorough or revealing their documentation. We are doomed to be forever hailing someone who has just gone around the corner and out of earshot.”

I SAID, YOU ARE RE-WRITING HISTORY.

@rajk999 saidSlavery has been a way of life for most people in most places for thousands of years but the systematic large scale slave trade as a business for profit in West Africa began around 1600.
What nonsense !! Is that what they teach in your colleges? The truth is that slavery in Africa is a way of life. Always was for thousands of years, and is still so today, among certain tribes. Europeans did not introduce slavery into Africa. They arrived in Africa and they met slavery there.
Here are some of the facts:
Europeans did not introduce slavery to Africa. ...[text shortened]... inland and captured slaves themselves.

@athousandyoung saidWell now you are making the right statement, and obviously the slave trace will expand when markets become bigger .. that goes without saying. The fact is that slavery and slave trade was in operation all along.

@yo-its-me saidI do not get comfort, neither do I encourage others to get comfort, from misinformation and lies. Clearly you do.

I wonder what I've written that you dispute?!
What is my answer to what I was taught in school? Were you in my class or something?!
The slave trade was in existence when the Europeans arrived in Africa. Nobody cares who is right or wrong. That is not under discussion.

@rajk999 saidWhat? Who said slavery was new?!

It's been recorded throughout history.
Are you reading things I can't see?
I have blocked a few posters tbh.

@yo-its-me saidI quoted this from a site ... Europeans did not introduce slavery to Africa. As African rulers rose and fell, their political opponents, people of high social status, and their families were sold to promote internal political stability. Poor people were sold to reconcile debts owed by themselves or their families. Chiefs sold people as punishment for crimes. Gangs of Africans and a few marauding Europeans captured free Africans who were also sold into slavery. Domestic slaves were resold and prisoners of war were sold. Africans themselves carried out the capture and sale of other Africans for enslavement -- few Europeans ever actually marched inland and captured slaves themselves.
What? Who said slavery was new?!
It's been recorded throughout history.

And you seem to take offense. Is there something incorrect about that quote?
@rajk999 saidYou're welcome to move to Florida then. I hear they think just like you do down there.
Yes it was. Life in Africa in1600 for example, was a horrendous existence, poverty, starvation, hard work, tribal warfare where people were murdered, women raped, and enslaved by other tribes. Many movies have falsely characterized life in Africa in that slave period as an idyllic existence which was ended by the evil slave masters. You can swallow that BS if you like bu ...[text shortened]... ncompetence, poverty and suffering.
In other words ... nothing has changed in the last 500 years.
